A 14-year-old Liberty County boy was hospitalized Tuesday after he was shot accidentally as his twin brother fired at a snake.

The injured teenager was flown to a Houston hospital after he was shot at around 4 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say the brothers found the snake in a ditch, went to their house, got two .22 caliber rifles, and headed back outside to kill the reptile.

Just as one of the brothers fired, the other suddenly knelt down between him and the snake, authorities said.

The teenager was struck above the right ear, authorities said.

Or if the dumbass had just sat still instead of channeling his inner Steve Irvin, the snake would have moved on past him with no issues.

that guy has several videos with rattlesnakes and claims that one just crawled up to him while resting. definitely staged. wouldnt be surprised if he even milked it right before the video.

That's how most people get bit. Screwing around with the snakes head even after killing it.

If you decide it's neccessary to kill one, cut off the head and bury it. Don't pose for a picture on instagram like a dumbass and end up another "victim" of a rattlesnake bite.

Kennedy is special forces sniper trained so he knows how to handle snakes. Plus he grew up around them so there is a good chance he knows how to handle them

Most people that "know" how to handle snakes get bit at some point in time. That's why most people that actually handle or frequently interact with snakes, do so with a tool or completely avoid handling venomous snakes.
