I flipped some tin this week in the Austin area ( I was in Texas visiting friends and family) and found a dark phased diamondback rattler and a garter snake.

Driving back to Tennessee with an eastern hognose in my right front passenger seat. I had one of these years ago and had been looking for one for a while.

Will post pictures when I am not on the road

So I am outside shooting birds with my BB gun today and look up in a tree to take aim at one I have been trying to hit for awhile... lo and behold o have an ally in the fight!

We've been getting less and less figs off of ours every year. We usually find out the figs are ripe when the birds eating the overripe and fermented figs get drunk & start flying into the windows of our sunroom. Sometimes they hit so hard they actually break their necks. Occasionally a mockingbird will get liquored up and fight his reflection on the glass.

Well. Now that I know we have a big ol rat snake perusing the bird aisle, I'm confident my tomatoes will not be victims much longer.

I was sure my efforts of popping them with bb's each evening, along with my neighbors scare crows and faux dead decoys were scaring them away, but now I think an expert assasin is taking his prey!

It's a pain but you can't just go the imgur page where the pic is; you have to right-click and view image and copy that url....note the difference (by viewing properties) between my link and yours...

Just fixed my post. On mobile, once you have it uploaded in imgur, tap and hold and then select view image. Once it loads copy the url from your browser.
