What I got out of it was if they didn't "harvest" them, the snakes would all be killed by the farm workers.

Nothing yet for 2017, but I got some great pics of a canebrake and several Pygmy rattlers last year. We have tons of them up at the lease. If it wasn't such a PITA to post pics, I'd post em up.

Juvinile moccasins are cool. Especially when they're almost identical to a copperhead but with the yellow tail.

What are y'all doing with the snakes? Out of curiousity... this isn't a test or attempt to scathe you.

I usually just leave them be, I've killed a few if they're in areas with a lot of foot traffic where people are or will be working, but not many.

I have no idea if there is any truth to this but I have "heard" that alligators will sometimes intentionally go to saltwater to rid themselves of parasites or other skin issues. Could it be something similar to that with this python? Or are we just watching a new trend that ensures everyone, even in the ocean and in their toilets, has to check for massice pythons?

My guess is it is some sort of Acrochordus (file snake or elephant trunk snake). Fully aquatic snakes with funky scales/skin like that.

Yes, although I think the genus changed to Chilabothrus. Probably Chilabothrus striatus.
