Not trying to bash anyone but I don't know why anyone believes any of these forced perspective animal photos and subsequent stories online. I think the max know recorded weight for a bullfrog (which most herps are done by length, anyway) is less than 2 pounds. So the new record is a 550% increase?

Yep. The rule when referring to any animal "story" on social media is to not believe it unless it's shared by an accurate wildlife department/resource (TPWD) or you were physically there.

Just look at how many "water moccasins" get posted on here.

More than that. The Goliath frog is bigger than the cane toad, but I think the biggest one ever recorded was 5.5lbs.

"A spokesman for the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department told the Houston Chronicle that the photo is real and not photoshopped. However, the spokesman said the picture is a little misleading.

"It's not as bigly as it appears," spokesman Steve Lightfoot said. "[It's an] optical illusion created by extending frog toward the camera similar to what you see with fishermen holding up fish to make them appear larger. Still a big bullfrog, though."

We recently put up this small fountain in our yard. I went out yesterday and saw this scene. I have seen this snake around the yard before. I'm not sure if it was just looking for a drink, or looking for minnows/frogs to eat. After I took this video I ran to get my real camera, but as I was coming back with it, this guy slinked off into the bushes.
