And oddly enough, Glasnow is blaming his injury on sunscreen... or lack thereof

So he admits he was using sunscreen to help aid his pitching... putting a foreign substance on the ball, and quit using it and got injured because he wasn't using it?!
What a complete s-show. MLB has to be the worst run organization of all major sports by far.

Man, I would have liked to have seen the reverse angle at first. Pretty sure Altuve made it but damn that was close.

And as far as MLB goes, I don't see how there can be any continuity in records for anything with as much as they tinker with the game. I don't see how the league has a leg to stand on with much of anything. They allowed steroids until it looked bad. They've allowed substances on balls until the media sniffed around and offensive production dropped. They allow all these things and call players cheaters. Sure, it's technically against the rules, but is it if you know guys are doing it and make no real attempt to stop it. The leadership in the league is just plain terrible.

I think MLB had some of their personnel running Chernobyl. There are no steroids in the bloodstream. There are no substances on the baseballs. There is no graphite on the roof

One strike away, right? wasn't the count 2-2?

Honestly, this game is a win-win. If we lose, #teamtank baby. If we win, we beat the Astros! Given all that, Rangers will probably figure out a way to end this game in a draw lol

Awful. Clearly a strike.

Ump missed the first pitch of that at bat (it was close though), but the last pitch was clearly a strike. That was brutal, especially he had been calling the low strike all night.

This was almost my exact post from about a month ago. I'm now on board. They're awful.

And what do you think losing actually accomplishes?

We'll screw up our draft pick. We could even pick BOTH Leiter and Rocker and we'd still get them injured. Our draft picks never mature into all-star quality players.

Wow, people complaining about the umpire over balls and strikes when our team is 17 games out of 1st in the middle of June. After Evans had thrown 7 straight balls . . . as a "major league" pitcher. Major league pitchers don't throw 7 straight balls.

We blew the game in the 9th inning. How about we either get Correa out or pitch around him with McCormick on deck? Who promptly strikes out on 4 pitches.

Zero baseball skills, zero accountability. Woodward reminds me of the IT director down the hall.

We have one good bullpen member in Kennedy, and one good starting pitcher in Gibson. The offense has very little explosion in it other than Garcia at times. I'm not sure any manager would have much success with this roster. This team is just not good. Not even close.

He got hosed. Fans complain when their teams get hosed. No one is saying or acting like we are going to make the playoffs this season or anything. And he may have eventually choked the game away anyway, but it's not asking too much for the ump to not screw the rookie in a tight situation.

At 26.157, have we seen enough of him?! This is about the same age Odor was last year at this time.

No. It's his first full season as a MLB starter, I think he deserves the shot to fight his way out of a slump and continue to be the primary 2B for a full season to see what he can do. We watched Odor struggle for multiple seasons consecutively, Solak at least deserves one full season.

It's not like he is blocking someone of note in the minors anyway. Who would we even plug into 2B in place of Solak? Anderson Tejada was struggling so bad at AAA that he recently got demoted to AA. Maybe there is someone else I'm not thinking of off the top of my head.

Watching baseball on TV was so much better before they brought in these stupid imaginary strike zone boxes they put over the plate. Now every borderline pitch or missed call gets scrutinized. There are 300 pitches a game and some of those calls are going to be missed or a pitcher is going to get squeezed, especially when he hasn't demonstrated the ability to simply throw strikes to a player as awful as Jason Castro.

But this is nothing new. I've watched Ranger closers struggle to throw strikes since Mitch Williams and Jeff Russell. Same game, different decade.

I know Tejeda is primarily a SS, but I think they are moving more to the utility route with him. He was the only somewhat realistic 2B option I could really dial up without digging through the minor league teams/stats. But he was slumping bad at AAA, so I wouldn't call him a realistic option either at this point. Let hope Solak can turn it back around a bit.

The Ranger's prospects at 2B/SS are a couple to a few years away.

Probably the closest to be MLB ready is Yonny Hernandez, who is a scrappy player probably better suited to be a utility guy, but he's a contact hitter/great fielder with speed....he's just tiny and has no power whatsoever.

Tejada so far hasn't shown the ability to hit enough. So beyond him and Hernandez, you have to go down to A ball for guys like Justin Foscue, Jose Acosta, Luisangel Acuna, or Christian Inoa - and none of them are close to being ready IMO.

My guess is they'll try to stick with Solak until they either stumble onto somebody better or one of the kids develops into something. Personally, I wish they'd give Yonny a shot - he's kind of like Jeff Frye with more speed. Switch hitter as well.

Astros have a guy like that who's worked out ok.

I mean really tiny.... he's listed at 5'9" (and that's probably generous) and 140 lbs. 3 HRs in 1,398 career minor league ABs. Singles hitter, with even limited gap power. But very speedy, walks a good bit and makes good contact with not a lot of strike outs.

I go to quite a few Round Rock Express games....
Gosh, Yonny just doesnt pass the eye ball test to play at the MLB....

As a matter of fact I dont know if Ive seen a MLB player at Round Rock this year...(Eli White just came back up)
Leody looks completely lost at the plate.....REALLY nice guy and really fast ...but yikes
