Some of you will remember that I used to search for longhorn tears and was quite good at it. I've retired from that, but, I've decided I'll do a special edition of astros tears for your enjoyment.

El bombi can't lay off the high fastball that's not a strike. They have been throwing it to him constantly since that reliever struck him out in the 8th inning last night with it and he's been swinging at it every single time.

8 strike outs today. Almost half of our outs so far the ball isn't even being put in play. That needs to improve.

This is my one concern about him once they start playing some of these teams for the 3rd or 4th series and the book on him starts getting developed. If there is a hole in that swing, it will be found.

Teams have already tried several adjustments against him and it hasn't worked too much yet. They were giving him a ton of breaking balls, but he crushed one of those for a home run yesterday.

I think coaching will address the high fastball thing after the Astros leave and we have a day off. Well hopefully they do.

I'm just old enough to remember guys like Kevin Maas who broke into the league for the forst time at age 25+, hit a ****load of HRs for half a season, then the hole is found and things never really return. I'm hopeful for Adolis, but this whole story is almost too good to be true.

Adolis doesn't seem to be as dumb or hopeless as odor. I have more optimism in him than I ever did in odor, but I'm not gonna say the guy is going to be an all star either. We just need to see how he does over time.

Well no matter the outcome since extra innings is a crap shoot we played 27 innings of solid baseball this weekend. Lots of encouraging things to see after the schedule we had to go through the last 2 weeks.

It bothers me the same way the DH does - prefer classic game but understand the reason in today's game.
