Never.

But the good news is (1) looks are irrelevant and (2) artificial turf is getting better all the time. When's the last time you heard a complaint from a player about the artificial turf at GLF?

I have been really pleased with how the pitching is going. If it has staying power that would be promising.

The home road split in W/L is crazy to me. I like that we are focusing more on traditional get hits and manufacture runs style baseball. But we have to get some guys who consistently put the ball in the gaps. I think that will be the key to building a winner in the new park.

Very encouraged by the pitching. The key watch-out will be when they start seeing some of these teams a 2nd time. But so far so good

Write-up I ran across earlier on the pitching, and the tandems. Looks like Allard may take Benjamin's spot (Benjamin was sent down). And they will likely be careful with Dunning all year on the innings pitched as he didn't have many innings pitched over the past two seasons.

It is still early, but the early returns on Dunning for Lynn appear to be good.

Lynn: 3 GS, 0.92 ERA, 19.2 IP, 27 SO, 0.915 WHIP
Dunning: 3 GS, 0.60 ERA, 15.0 IP, 16 SO, 0.800 WHIP

Rangers control Dunning through 2026.

Lynn is going an extra IP/GS, but Dunning just needs to build his strength this season.

Only expected to miss one GS, but looks favorable for both.
It's fair to say that nobody expected Dunning to even come close to Lynn's numbers. Especially in his first season. Dunning was billed as a solid #3 or #4 on a hypothetical team competing for the playoffs.

It's also fair to say that JD had to hit or "get it right" on the Lynn trade because of all the recent trade deadlines where we desperately needed talent to build our team, the front office stood pat or did nothing, then we were all told later that the offers were trash.

Ryan Drese had a 2.25 ERA in his first 5 Ranger starts.

Ignoring how unlikely it is for us to be in the position to go for it, it's even further unlikely we actually would "go for it" as we don't have enough talent in the minors to bring back anything that would come close to putting us over the top.

Was about to post this. Only the third inning and he's already had two highlight reel plays. Best part was Ohtani doing a bat flip and having Garcia yank it away from him

Adolis is a scary looking dude. Dominicans are strong, don't get me wrong, but I feel like they tend to be more wiry and fluid. Cubans are just jacked.

And agreed on Taveras, really struggling at the plate. He looked better at the end of last season. He may need some time in AAA to get things straightened out.

Arihara and Dunning are doing way better than I expected this early in the season. Gibson looks like he was only bad last year due to a health issue and this is the guy the rangers thought they were getting initially.
