Lowe, Solak, and Dunning. Gallo and Dahl have potential for extensions.
I'd say Lowe, Solak and Dahl need to prove themselves this year before considering an extension For Dunning, same thing except for him it would mostly be proving he can stay strong and healthy for a full season (even though they are taking it easy on his pitches/innings). For Gallo, he is a Boris guy so he'll either want to break the bank or test the market if we don't meet whatever Boris thinks he is worth. I like him overall and would like to keep him around, but I don't know that other teams will send us a boatload of prospects for him given his up and down nature. He needs a solid 2019-esque season to have any real trade value. I'd consider extending him for a reasonable price, but Boris is rarely reasonable.
I'd also put IKF and Arihara on the extension "watch" list. Something to consider if they can continue to establish themselves this season.
This team will need to step up and make a financial commitment to a few players sometime in the not to distant future. Future financial commitments are minimal at the moment, so they can't say we don't have the money.
Has it been defined what organizational decisions JD is making and what decisions Chris Young is making moving forward?
