I remember reading that Shogun is now going into a newly built shopping center in that area.

Shogun actually put their signage up on the building last week, so it appears to be happening soon.

Also, Lick in Century Square opened a couple months ago.

I saw storefront signage for Shogun yesterday, so it's real. It's in the new strip just south of PetSmart.

Is Mr Hamburger permanently closed? Their marquee suggested they might be reopening in "January '23" or did when I last drove by to find them closed a few weeks ago.

Might want to add Shawarma Factory under Recently Opened.

Isn't TX Chifa Street Food already open in Post Oak Mall? The former Raising Cane's location?

Barry Ivins of Carney's and Corner fame appears to be ready to announce a new taco truck enterprise. Trailer is parked across from Carney's (no markings) and Barry strongly hinted at it over New Years on FB.

Interesting on the Pot Heads. This in addition to Texas Plant Connection that just opening across Texas from Kerr Surveying. I didn't realize there was an emerging boom for potted plants in town.

We've been a few times and have enjoyed each visit. Wide range of meats, veggies, and sides. Generous portions: we typically get 2 meals out of each entre. The staff are friendly and very helpful for suggestions and options, especially for first-timers. They are on our regular rotation list.

Hopefully!

But also, hopefully better operated than the Wellborn location. We would drive from Bryan to take the kids there, and I would hope they have my childhood indulgence of pink bubblegum in stock. (My family thinks it's disgusting)

But we pretty much quit going, lack of staff that would mostly just man the drive through and ignore the lobby, dirty sticky tables and counters, disgusting bathrooms and overflowing trash cans. Admittedly, we haven't been in several months, so hopefully things have gotten better?

I tried it for lunch. Very good and the couple that runs it are super sweet. They have an odd (to me) way of doing sandwiches: they make the wrap and then slice it into jelly roll like segments. Still good though.

I had falafel but going to try the shawarma itself. Curiously they use beef instead of lamb and I don't know if that's usual, cultural, regional etc.

Yes, that Welborn Dunkin is a huge let down. Took the kids thinking it would be fun, immediately regretted that decision

Call me old fashioned but Dunkins outside of the NE is pretty bland and meh. I'd take Krispy Kreme over Dunkins any day. But I would throw both of them over the side without hesitation for Shipleys.

Any details on this rumor? Assume a lot needs to happen for it to be in the works, so likely not a 2023 thing, but would be great if sometime in 24

I think the best location is the old Conaway place at the intersection on University and Boonville. But this is just me shooting in the dark. I looked around on the CAD and didn't find any smoking guns pointing back to HEB - but I didn't look super hard.

We were only there for the Baskin Robbins.

From what I recall, maybe from here, Duncan donuts doesn't make anything in house, I don't want donuts that were made somewhere else and shipped in. I barely like Shipley's if they aren't still hot and fresh. No thanks on cold donuts.

It's funny cause when they first opened, the drive-thru line stretched for like half a mile. Place just isn't any good.
