Got creole chicken stuffed jalapenos as an appetizer. They came in order of 3 and were really good. I got a fried shrimp po-boy and my son got a fried oyster po-boy. They were cut in half so we split. The fries were good and the po-boys were good. We agreed the shrimp was the better. My wife got shrimp creole. It was a good portioned bowl served on rice. The flavor was great and the okra in it was delicious. My other son got the crawfish etouffee. He loved it and it was a nice portion as well. He cleaned his plate.
All 4 entrees and one app, 4 waters cost about $90 so it is pricy but it is good seafood so we expected it. I would wait a bit to let them get their menu worked out but will definitely be back.
try Tad's for a delicious PoBoy! They're enormous and have a lunch special!

Hell you can drop $90 at Kanji before you even start in on the main course, and that's just for one person!

There's a lot of money in this forum. I get that and can appreciate that. I guess I was just thinking/hoping Poche's was going to come in at a more accessible price point than $22/person. If for no other reason than for the fact it's located in the middle of multiple student housing areas. I guess they're going for a different demographic, which is fine. I'm sure we'll go a time or two, but probably not very often. Wish we could though, I'm sure it'll be delicious!

Guessing Poche's is aiming beyond the resident student market. Kanji (and I'm a fan) gets a lot of business courtesy of the airport, the Stella, etc. and being a very rare restaurant close to a growing part of TAMU.
Maybe (big maybe) Poche's is trying to follow that formula. We'll see how it shakes loose.

The $90 bill was for a $7 app, two po-boys at $17 each. Etouffee was $23 and the shrimp Creole was $23. That's $87 with tax pushing you up to the $90. It was good seafood and yes, I've had Tad's po-boy. It is the same price range as theirs. I don't see how you can go out to eat these days and not spend nearly $100 for a family of 4. Even fast food is expensive these days.
That being said, we'll wait until they get their menu finalized and get the hiccups worked out, and will definitely be back.
