So what is she doing there? Observing Claire? just observing everyone?

Or have they caught wind of Sun's pregnancy.

I'm guessing that the island attempts to "cure" pregnant women and that's why they've been failing.

The cancer is a true mystery now. Was there something that caused it to happen or simply another bizarre coincidence?

although one thing I do blame Ben for is sending his doctors (Ethan and ...can't remember his name, the one banging Juliet) to infilitrate the crash survivors (and now sending Juliet).

The crash survivors killed two of his doctors, and I wouldn't put it past Sayid to sniff this out and kill Juliet as well.

What's interesting about the Others is that their moral code has degraded to where they all lie. They are like people who live in a country where all information is controlled by the government.

The writers understand human traits well. People want "truth", they need to "believe". Ben controls the truth, so he controls the people.

Why is the cancer a mystery? The island cured Bens cancer by bringing him a spinal surgeon.

BTW - In the preview for next week they showed a quick flash of a copy of the book "Ardil-22" which is the Brazilian release of Joseph Heller's Catch-22. Interesting.

I still find how quickly they reacted to the plane crash astounding. That and they had all that info so quickly on the Losties - including Sawyer's murder the night before the flight. Why did they need lists?

How does Ben/Jacob's group fit in with the Dharma people? Juliet was looking at Desmond very ominously.

Juliet said this explicitly to him. I'm not sure that Jack or Ben ever referred to it as cancer.

What sort of tumors are there that aren't considered cancer?

Did Ben claim to be born on the island or just to have lived his whole life on the island? not necessarily the same thing.

If born on the island, surely someone will piece together the thing about all the pregnant mothers dying with this claim.

Plus, as Dr Ol Jock pointed out, the tumor was on the L-2 vertebra, not the L-4. Freaking stupid Lost people!

negative. My Breast (Meredith Baxter) showed an entire exposed breast in 1994. I remember hearing about it in the paper and watching it with great intrigue. It was my first live-action woman.\

This thread is much better when everyone actually liked the episode...

I know you can never trust the ABC promo people, but I'm pretty excited about this "cataclysmic" finale. Cause I'm dumb, I had to go to the dictionary for cataclysmic:

1. A violent upheaval that causes great destruction or brings about a fundamental change.
2. A violent and sudden change in the earth's crust.

This sounds pretty effing promising.

Great episode!!

I do have a question though. We are 5 episodes away from the finale and haven't heard anything about Desmond's girlfriend searching after him (the last 3 minutes of last season's finale). I'm sure there is going to be more to that at some point, but can we infer any connections to the anomalies and everything else that took place then to what we have learned so far this season?

one other thing....

Ben mentioned an implant in Claire. 1st, how do they activate it and 2nd, is it possible they put implants in Jack, Kate, Sayid or Sawyer when they had them in captivity?

Speaking of implants, remember when Ben supposedly put the implant in Sawyer that prevented him from raising his pulse above a certain rate? We were shown that to have been a trick by Ben to manipulate Sawyer, but since they obviously implanted something in Claire and used it at a later date, could they have done the same thing to Sawyer?

This whole Claire thing has restored all my faith that the writers do in fact know exactly where they are going. They take you down Nikki/Paolo detours, where you wonder if you wasted alot of time, but that Claire thing is pretty good foresight. Actually having those seemingly random nightmares from season 1 mean something and fit into the big plan is pretty impressive.

My only explanation would be that the majority of the sub was still underwater. We saw the tower portion while at the dock.
