he didn't temporarily abandon him... his wife basicly forced him to not be a part of his life.
I loved the episode. LOST is more about the character development than the story of the island anyway. That is what I love about it. Sure, I want to know where they are going with everything, and what the answers are to all the mysteries, but as far as the show goes, I think it is a character-driven show first and foremost.
I was entertained. Some of the dialogue between Hurley, Sawyer, Jin while working on the van was freaking hilarious. It moved the plot forward a little (Kate/Sayid/Locke readying to get Jack).
And ignore the promo guy, people. All of the networks oversell EVERYTHING. For instance, every week NBC calls ER (a has-been show that hasn't been good in nearly a decade) one of the most "powerful" and "gripping" episodes yet. ABC is particularly bad about Lost, but I don't know what to say if you haven't figured that out by now and still allow yourself to be disappointed by a show not living up to promo guy hype.

I enjoyed this episode of Lost...but only because I lowered my expectations.

I enjoyed the episode. I like it when drama shows show the characters "cutting loose." With some dramas, I find myself asking, "Why don't all these people just put a bullet in their head already?"

Many people seem disappointed in the last two episodes because we've come to expect every episode to be jaw-dropping, jump on the couch good. I can't name shows where I feel that way after every episode. If the rest of this season is awful then I feel it would be safe to find a new show to watch. You'll know if it picked back up when people are talking about it on every morning and late-night show.

Heroes is still in its first season, though. Lost was perpetual greatness in season one, too.
I just don't think that kind of pace is sustainable over the course of many seasons.

This episode reminds me of why I started liking LOST in the first place: it had interesting characters and it was fun. Sure, I like the mysteries and the weirdness; but this one was more like a Season 1 show. Also, seeing that Cheech was Hurley's dad just made me smile.

Fantastic episode....Does everyone get the feeling as I do that there is no way Lost is going to end in a satisfactory way? Don't get me wrong, I love the show and actually think this season is better than the last, but I can't see them ending it in a way that will be satisfactory to everybody. Like comparing novels to their adapted movies, everyone has a vision of what the island is about and what the answers to the many questions presented. By default, when the writers give us these secrets, it will be only natural to dismiss it or hate it because it wasn't what you imagined. Sorry this is long, but does anyone get that feeling?
