Doesn't sound like a flashback or precognition to me at all anymore.

Sounds like "Desy" has gotten himself mixed up in a royal time loop.

It's likely he's lived through all of this many many times, just how many times we'll likely never know.

Apu, Cindy was the flight attendant who gave Jack the extra liquor bottles on the plane. She crashed with the tailees and was snatched by the Others when they were trying to make their way back to the rest of the survivors.

If Desmond saves Charlie enough times it could break the time loop that he is in and allow the rest of his life to play out, if in fact he IS in a time loop.

Who said what Clarke quoted? Jack? I remember him getting an extra bottle of liquor from her, but not the conversation.

I also want to know how that old lady knows so much and her role.

Has that ring that he threw into the water shown up again yet? I don't remember Season I and II anymore.

I don't want Charlie to die. Was always rooting for him to live happily ever after with Claire.

This was BY FAR my favorite episode of the series. I love Desmond's character so much.

I have NO idea if he was actually re-experiencing the past or not. I suspect that he was.

I DO know that his storyline with Penelope has now surpassed all the other flashback stories, possibly with the exception of Hurley.

They are finally returning to deep character development. I hope they keep it up.

THREE BIG ANSWERS, TO THREE BIG QUESTIONS:

1. What happened to the kids?
2. What happened to the kipnapped people?
3. What is the "project" that Sawyer and Kate were forced to work on?***

***I'm not really sure about the third one.

Either way, the producers are in touch with the audience. They know they have to start giving some answers to some mysteries to keep the fans appeased.

Great episode. Charlie needs to die, not as much as Nikki on Heroes, but he still needs to die - he is annoying. I was starting to think that Claire wanted to committ suicide by drowning because of stress with the baby. Glad I was wrong.

Anyone notice the music in this episode? when Desmond is with Penny in the flat, "Building a Mystery" is playing in the background. And then Charlie was singing "Wonderwall" when Desmond approaches him on the street. And considering the chorus:

And maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
Cuz after all
You're my wonderwall


A little foreshadowing that I surely didn't catch because I thought for sure Claire was gonna get the axe.

a good question moving forward:

both Desmond and Penelope have a copy of the photograph they took together, but the photographer gave them only one copy of the photograph

how did they each get a copy?

What I'm confused with is, why doesn't Charlie remember his encounter with Desmond? Wouldn't he remember that he met him on the street if this was the past?
