The monster takes pictures, and doesn't like the sound fence thingy.

I liked it. It was a good setup episode (going back to camp, Juliette), answered a couple of questions (fences, Sawyer has a kid), and had a funny twist (Hurley conning Sawyer)

Not the most exciting, but it was good

didn't we already know Sawyer had a kid? I thought I remember an episode where he found that out in prison?? Or am I thinking of something entirely different?

Also, I didn't understand Juliet/Kate in the jungle??? Juliet did that on purpose because they left her, so she took Kate to the jungle and handcuffed herself to her so that Kate would think they were in it together???

I don't understand.

I don't think Juliet is a plant because that seems to obvious, but Sayid usually has a good nose for bull****, so who knows.

It didn't answer any questions about the fences and we already knew Sawyer had a kid.

You say you don't understand but you just explained what happened. :P

I thought it was good, but the ending was flat. It was cool to see Kate and Sawyer's girl connected in the back story. I thought the Kate/Juliette story was good too. The black smoke monster was pretty freaky too.

I agree about Juliette being a plant, she has got to be one. Her reason for having a key was a lie. I thought I saw her putting on a gas mask too.

The Hurley/Sawyer stuff was funny. Good episode, but not a great one. I was expecting another major cliff hanger ending, but didn't get one. I wonder what they are doing with Locke. He is so easily conned, they've got to be up to something with he and his dad.

I looked at the DVR replay. I don't think that is her.

Can a hovering smoke monster not go over a 15' fence in the same way that three people under 6' did with a fallen tree?

no.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
why couldn't all powerful smoke monster figure out it could go over the fence like kate/sayid/locke did?

also, sorry, but the backstory of this episode was completely lame...right from the start where some random lady was selling fake necklaces at a service station and some guy threatened to call the cops because he was getting scammed, but then decided everything was cool because some other random girl came up and said her dad owned a jewelry store and then bought a necklace.

No, I understand what was supposed to have happened. What I don't understand is how it happened (or really even the reason for it).

So all four get gassed. Juliet wakes up first some how and has time to see everyone is gone so she says, oh ****, I know I will go get Kate drag her into the jungle and handcuff myself to her so she thinks we are a team and I don't get left again (#1 why not just go to jack, he is the leader and she already has connection with jack).

Then she has time to drag kate into the jungle, fight with kate in the rain (which was some solid TV although there should have been less clothing involved), hide from the smoke monster, wait out the night until the morning and sneak back into camp, and Jack was still out cold???

That was old school lost. Get it back to Kate, Sawyer, Locke, Jack, and Sayid. Good episode. Mud wrestling and wet teeshirts. Plus, two of the hottest women left on the island handcuffed together....

Which fetish went unfulfilled and what is not to like about that episode? I thought it was great.

If that was not Juliet at the beginning, the producers did a good job to throw us off. The lady putting the mask on had the same outfit, same hair and body, and the camera kept centering on her and purposely blocked out her face as much as they could.

We also learned the Juliet has been on the island for 3 years. I think we knew she came onto the island, but had no idea how long she had been there.

It is also Sun is going to retalliate against Sawyer soon, and he's not going to see it coming.

1) More backstory on Kate. This is what the show does. Backstory/character definition.

2) An additional relationship connected to the people on the island.

3) Juliet is NOW in the camp with the crash survivors.

4) The others are now somewhere else that no one knows about.

5) Smoke monster is alive and well and still a reason why everyone is still living on a freakin' beach.

6) Sawyer gets conned.

No one has mentioned Locke being "chosen." Where did he go? Where is his worthless father?

Kate is also an extremely unforgiving person.

I don't know if Locke was "chosen", but rather Ben is just messing with him with his "dad".

does it bother you that the people on this show never ask direct questions when they have great chances to...

i.e. Kate had so much time to ask for info while chained to Julliet... but all she does is brood about jack.

i understand to some extent they have to keep the show interesting... but the losties NEVER ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS!!!!!!

I definitely think the show has picked up steam since the return from the break. Not every episode is greatness, but they definitely are doing a good job of keeping a bit of mystery for the time being.

I said the exact same thing to my wife last night c-jags. The preview for next week shows Sayid talking with her. Maybe he'll torture her like he did Sawyer and Ben.

My question is.....why wouldn't they bring everyone back and all live in the houses since the others left and they know how to work the fence now?

i thought it was pretty good. nothing earth shattering, but like some others have said, it was vintage Lost.

The most obvious question I asked after last night’s episode was: why don't all of the plane crash survivors go back and live in the "Others" village?

You should just stop watching now. Seriously, this show is not for you.

I have no doubt Juliet is a mole. And I think she was completely aware that she was going to get left. The Others put her and Kate in the jungle together to screw with Kate's head. And I really hope Sayid goes all "Iraqi" on Juliet next week when she shows up at the Losties camp.

I'm not entirely sure Jack hasn't been brainwashed. Could be an epic Jack/Sawyer battle shaping up. And this time, Sawyer is the good guy.

I wish they would just drop the Kate love triangle thing completely. It's boring, and I don't like seeing sappy Kate.

Good episode. I think it'll be one of those episodes that's better when you look back later after getting some answers. I hope there's a good reason the smoke monster can't fly over the fence. That was kinda 'tarded.

It's probably the same reason it can't go on the beach. Seriously, I am forced to ignore the smoke monster completely, because I have no clue what it is or what it does. And trying to figure it out will drive me insane. I will just have to wait for the show to reveal the smoke monster secret.

However, Juliette may provide some insight into the smoke monster. She knew to power up the fence to stop it.

2 questions:

First, how long was Jack knocked out? I thought that Kate and Juliet spent the night in the jungle.

Second, is it possible that the smoke monster can travel between the two islands or is just stuck on the one?

if the losties go move to the deserted village, the others would be able to trap them inside the magic fence, and they would all be perma rodents inside the wheelie ball that is life on the island.

some places are using the timing, and the big tsunami as an event to time them moving to the other village.

Sayid won't go all "Iraqi" on J because Jack is falling for her now it seems. Sayid is a softy for females. I bet he just threatens her. Who knows.

I am upset there has been no new info on Locke's father.

Maybe it's a combination of sound as well as physically being blocked that the black smoke can't get through.

You're assuming Juliet actually got gassed

Interesting. I never considered that. I guess the big tsunami happened 12/26/04, which should be coming up pretty soon on the lost island timeline. Hmm....

Okay, nevermind. After looking at wikipedia real quick, there's no way the '04 tsunami would reach the lostie island if it's northeast of australia.

No, I'm not assuming that. I was just stating the explanation that Kate was supposed to believe.

Well, if you take Juliette info at face value, we know Ben and the Others don't know what it is either.

I liked this episode, A LOT.

AMEN!!!

And Juliet is Superwoman or something with those reflexes.

Why were Sayid and Jack out so long? Kate wakes up and of course Juliet wakes up at JUST the right time. They play in the jungle (man, there needed to be a hose down at the end of the cat fight/mud wresling...) and go find Jack and Sayid who can be woken up from gas induced sleep by just 'shaking them'...."wake up honey...it's time for breakfast."

This episode had to many holes.

The "why was Jack still knocked out while Kate has been awake for probably at least 12 hours" thing bothered me too. But, I think there is a fair explanation.

Kate was knocked out in the gameroom by the gas and then moved out into the open air, whereas Jack was still in the room with the gas. It seems reasonable that he was still breathing the gas in some quantity while he was unconscious.

As for Sayid, for all we know he was never even knocked out. Last we saw him he was simply locked up. If he was knocked out then we can assume he was in an area where the gas would not have easily dispersed just like Jack. Or, maybe he was knocked out but never released from bondage. Either way, he wasn't going anywhere.
