For some reason, I was reminded of the thestrals at Hogwarts - only those who had seen death could see them. Are those on the island all dead..and they can only see the other dead people? .....is that who's doing the whispering? Wow. I have no idea what's going on.

Ben wasn't born on the island. Ben sees the ghost of his mom on the island. Ben kills his own father. There were others before the Dharma Initiative came to the island. Jacob is a ghost who gets pissed off easily. It doesn't appear that Jack/Juliette are double crossing. And Locke is shot and left for dead.
What do you think Jacob (whoever he is), meant by "Help me"? Why would Jacob need help.

edit: I think some of the hostiles may be too. Like the guy Ben met in the woods. He looks no older now than he did when Ben was small.

My thoughts:
Locke isn't dead, if he was they would have shown him gasp his last breath. Who are the Hostiles? Hanso related? or were Hanso and Dharma the same thing, I forget.
Also, looks like Russo is teaming up with the Losties(snatching the dynamite last week)

After Ben gets knocked into the wall while inside the shack, the scene pans back to the chair. In the chair is the body of an older looking man. Long, scraggly, gray hair; shabby clothes, face is in shadow. The next scene is a tight shot on a pair of dark brown eyes. They could be Ben's or "Jacob's."
My big question is, can "Jacob" talk to Ben, or was Ben making it all up (about the lists). Is this the first time Jacob has talked to anyone?
Regarding Richard. He obviously is benefiting from some type of anti-aging properties of the island.

Doesn't matter... it didn't work too well for the people that were outside.
Ben and Locke have blue eyes, so the brown ones must have been Jacob's.

Dharma is the name of the project that was on the island. The Hanso Foundation was the group that funded/ran it.
