Lost is beginning to take on strange similarities to Alias.

Edit: Just remembered the others gave Michael a set of coordinates. My bad!

No they didn't. They just gave him a direction.

Desmond tried to sail in one direction and ended up going in circles. Will the same thing happend to Michael? Unless he has some new type of compus, I say yes.

My random thoughts on the show:

1) Sun is a no good, lying, ****. I have not liked her ever since she tried to poison Jin and I'm glad to see my suspicion of her was verified.

Obviously, the baby is probably the bald guy's and not Jin's.

2) Anyone else get the feeling Jack just got the opening he needs to seriously screw the Others? Either that, or Jack is leaving the island in 4 episodes (the current plot line is supposed to be wrapped up before the holiday break).

3) And who else thinks Jack and Juliet will team up to try and save Trixie's life? More female "bonding" time for Jack.

4) Sawyer is a pimp and has now officially replaced Locke as my favorite character. Most "protagonists" (including Jack) would have given the canteen to Kate, but Sawyer goes and dumps it out and then kisses the girl before kicking arse. Pretty cool anti-hero, in my opinion.

5) Desmond is ALIVE. Glad we are going to get back to Eko, Locke, Hurley, and the "come on everybody!" guy. In case you couldn't tell earlier, I hate Sun and could go an entire season without another one of her episodes.

6) The Red Soxs line was easy to see coming, but man it was still a classic.

Overall: I found myself *****ing about the episode the entire time, since I can't stand Sun, but after the episode was over I was happy with the information we learned. Can't wait until next week!

Some of my thoughts as well...

- After Juliet gave Jack that soup, Ben made the comment, "You never made soup for me." This got me thinking that Juliet was on the island BEFORE Ben, and thus had some part in his "conditioning." Then, at the end, when Ben said he's lived on the island his whole life, this theory kind of went out the window. Sooo... what the hell did Ben mean by that comment - AND/OR - could Juliet be A LOT older than she appears? Maybe it's another "attribute" of The Others, along with super-strength and freaky-wisdom?

- On a completely different note, but during that same scene, did anyone else get the total Matrix vibe they seemed to be laying on pretty thick? From the very beginning, I've always thought Juliet looked and sounded just like a blonde Trinity. And remember the scene from the first movie where Neo has just finished his initial sparring program with Morpheus, he's back in the real world resting in his cell, and Trinity brings him food? When she exits and shuts the door, Cypher is waiting there and says, "I don't remember you ever bringing me dinner." Pretty similar to Ben's "You never made soup for me," comment, right? Not to mention the whole grungy metal hall thing they both have going on. THEN, on top of all that, Ben is freakin' staring at a series of monitors that look eerily similar to the ones the Architect used in Reloaded. I have no idea what any of this means, if anything. It just seems a little too coincidental. Maybe it's simply a little sci-fi ode to the fact that The Others are "unplugging" Jack and revealing the truth to him. Inside the matrix, Morpheus & co are perceived as terrorists. Though, we soon learn that they are, in fact, the good guys trying to reveal the truth to those still "lost" in the matrix. At least to a certain degree, the same can be said about The Others. Or maybe I'm just WAY too much of a dork...

- And an FYI - I googled "Benjamin Linus" - got nothing. I then googled "Linus Benjamin" - he created the Linux computer operating system in 1991. Another connection to the whole Matrix/Architect thing? Yeah, probably not. But who knows. (Coincidentally, as soon as I did this, a pop-up appeared on my screen that said "Worlds Biggest Loser" with a "#1" ribbon graphic next to it. No idea what that was about...)

- And finally, Jack will NEVER leave the island. I predict they condition him for whatever purpose they have, actually do give him the choice and means to leave the island, but ultimately, he comes to his senses and makes a sacrificial decision to stay and save his friends.

I think Juliet and Ben used to be a thing, maybe even married. Lots of references to their past together.

How did the others get behind Sayid to the boat? Did they have another boat - don't think so 'cause I didn't see it. They didn't swim because they weren't wet. Nope. They walked on the beach, down the pier & stole the boat. No wonder we crushed the Republican Guard. Sayid is an f'ing idiot.

I just want to know why they were so concerned with them having a boat.

As for NoAC's comments on them working on the equation, until they bring it up in the show I'm not going to consider that a posibility.

I think it was Henry/Ben that said "If they have a boat, they can find us".

From the opening episode of this season, it looked like The Others camp was seperated from the Survivors by a low mountain range. The tail section survivors landed closer & had a greater chance of discovering the Others real camp... which is probably why they were decimated by the Others so quickly.

The main cabin survivors were far enough away to experiment on without risking discovery of the real camp, esp. with "The Monster/Cerebus" roaming around.

If the Others real camp can be seen from a boat, then the whole gig is up when the rest of the survivors find out.

BTW, I'm pumped because it looks like the Monster is making a return next week.

I googled "Benjamin Linus" in quotation marks, and got nothing. BUT, the sponsored link on the right hand side that came up took me to this page:

Anyone have any thoughts about what they have Sawyer and Kate working on? I think that it may be helicopter pad or some sort of landing strip.

Apache, I think Ben meant that with the boat, they can find the underwater hatch where they're holding Jack.

Benjamin Linus said he'd been on the island his whole life. Assuming he is telling the truth...

The year is 2004.

Ben has to be at least 40. That would mean his birth year is 1964.

Does Ben pre-date DHARMA? I think DHARMA was started in the 70's. If so, what was the island like before DHARMA?

I was wondering the same thing... You would think if you are setting a trap, you aren't just gonna look at one little spot in the jungle where you think they are gonna come from (like they kept showing). Surely Syid and Jin would have had view of the beach and the dock from where they were hiding...

perhaps the others had some underground/water passage way onto the dock which allowed them to get to the boat without being seen and without getting wet

Holy cow. Now that you mention it, I can't believe how close the resemblance between the two scenes are.

I kept thinking Juliet looked like somebody familiar, now I realize who - Trinity.

They could be breaking rocks to break rocks... They were stamping the ground so they are not building a structure, but something else, I didnt get a great look at the rest of the site, but some kind of flat, packed, cleared area sounds probable.

BTW, the Sawyer "Yes'suh Boss" quotes were ROFLMAO funny. Nice way to stick it in the others faces.

Sawyer, made himself my favorite character w/ this episode.

Ughh, Sayid, its no wonder you were an interrgator, and not a soldier, that was idiotic...Good Idea, Poor Planning.

There are TONS of links still active from the Lost Experience. VERY interesting stuff if you get into it enough to spend some time. Makes watching the show quite a bit more interesting in my opion.

Still have one more episode before it really gets back to the cool stuff with all the clues and little Easter Egg type things.

Jack isn't going anywhere. He will have to stay so Sawyer and Kate can leave.

The next episode is about Claire so we might finally hear more about her being Jacks half sister.

Not sure if they will tie Widmore Corporation to all this or not (I thought they might when Ben talked about being linked ot the outside world), but in the Lost Experience it is significant.

The monster thing yall mention is called the Cerberus System (smoke monster) and it is supposed to read minds and then the "Others" can pick at your biggest fears. blah blah.

You can google Valenzetti Equation for some interesting reading if you want to get deep into this stuff.

Uhm..so did Desmonds' boat. All he did was go in circles which was my original point.

How is Micheal, with no reference except the island (which will disappear over the horizon at some point) going to travel a straight line?

Have the producers said he is off the show?

Read somewhere that they would be back of an episode or something, but that was still up in the air.

The general feeling is that they are pretty much done with that story.

I think those people who dig around and see who all is listed in all the credits of each episode gathered that they were finished with them.

Here is my theory on the whole boat thing...

The island's electro-magnetic properties have created a sort of invisible dome that shrouds it. The dome has a "crack" in it do to some geological reason. (An underwater canyon?)

Now, when you leave the dock and head at precise vector, you are able to pass through the crack.

The tricky part is getting BACK. That is why Benji wasn't worried about Michael & Walt ever finding their way back.

This whole Hanso adoptions business got me to thinking. Could all the people on the plane be formerly adopted Hanso children? Is that why they know so much about them?
