Finally an episode ending that makes you sit around and talk about the show for 30 more minutes! Been too long since the last time we've had one of those

Great episode all the way through.

Emo Claire is hot.

My theory is that Locke, Kate, etc. would have been fine if they just walked past the Pylons. I think most of the Others probably have some sort of chip implanted in their skull that is triggered by walking past the pylons. It would be a great way to keep people from leaving or getting back in.

Also, I suppose the Others will have to eventually tell Jack and Claire that they are brother and sister, otherwise how will they find out?

Why did EyePatch say "Thank you" when Locke pushed him into the pylons? Was he being relieved somehow?

He wanted to be dead rather than be returned as a hostage.

We have seen a LARGE number of Others on both sides of the perimeter.

Danny
Tom
Ben
Juliet
Ethan
Goodwin

and I'm sure there are more.

Correct. But all you would need would be to have "the powers that be" that control the Others to temporarily disable the Pylons when people are coming and going with consent.

We already know that at least one Other was technically being held against their will(Juliette).

This would not be compelling writing and it makes almost no sense.

They can hold someone prisoner because they are on an ISLAND.

So... if Desmond is having a "groundhog day" situation, as it seems... is he restarting when the hatch exploded, or back at the flat in london?

In hindsight, the break from Nov-Feb was a good idea. 16 episodes in a row kicks ass.

So are we back to the "Bad Twin" idea with Happy Jack tossing the football with Mr. Friendly? Or has he somehow ingested the Kool-aid that made the flight attendant (can't remember her name) all zoned out and oblivious? Did football Jack have his tatoos?

Any significance to Sawyer reading Ayn Rand? I liked that he had to cut himself off from calling Claire, "Barbie. Claire's story seems semi-wrapped up...does that bode ill for her? Another Lostie responsible for the death of someone close to them.

i think it's more likely that we could be seeing the end of Locke soon...since they are going to reveal his story.

I disagree. I have a theory about Locke...so stay with me here...

What if Locke is a spy? Or a mercenary of sorts? I think Sayid suspects it in his comment tonight "Why are you really here John?" and there is a multitude of evidence that supports my assertion. I believe he was hired from the outside, sent to the island to cover up DHARMA's tracks and be rewarded in exchange for his efforts. His reward was obviously the ability to walk again (which will all be explained in the next episode apparently) by being sent to the island - with DHARMA having some degree of certainty what would happen with the plane. Now I don't have all of the pieces yet and this is still just an assumption, but look at some of the facts:

1. The "monster" or security system didn't kill him
2. He blew up the hatch
3. He blew up the "flame" communications station
4. "Patchy" knew his identity more than Sayid's and Kate's and said something tonight to the extent "And you John Locke...the only John Locke I know worked----" and was cut off by the French Lady. Obviously there was some great revelation to come here.
5. The distrust and lies (about the C4, apparently on the warpath)

Now, next week he goes right up to Ben and says "I'm not here for Jack" hinting at him coming after Ben. I know this is a bit of a stretch, but the "traitor" or "spy" card really has yet to be played and think it would be a great twist. Thoughts?

He was sent by the Others on a plane they didn't know would crash there?

He didn't say that he worked somehere. He said he was paralyzed.

Locke is pissed at Ben because Ben played him. Locke is tired of getting played. Locke wants to make Ben go Boom.

Jack said he would take care of Ben until he got better if he let his friends go. Maybe he's just honoring that commitment, and besides, he doesn't want his head to explode when he walks across the pylons. Basically, he's captive and cooperating hoping for early release.

No, patchy got cut off saying something like:

The only John Locke I know was a pa...

About to say "parapalegic".

So, this sonic defense is instantaneous? It seems like you might have to stand there a little while like patches to make it kill you. Also, when did Locke turn into the dumb guy of the group? It is annoying.

Did you watch the show last night???!?!?!?!

It appears that Locke has fully planned out his actions to suit his own purposes.
Sbisa04

I don't think he meant to blow up the station and I don't think he meant to kill patches. I do think he took the C4 on purpose but I don't see how his other actions are part of a master plan.
91_Aggie
How long do you want to ignore this user?

1) If he had the C4, he knew the place was wired... he told Sayid he would have been more careful if knew C4 existed.

2) Patchy almost told everyone he was a parapalegic, which meant he knew more about him... next week is about Locke in flashbacks, so there might be something else he wants kept secret. He may not have known for sure Patchy would die, but I think he was very happy he died.
Sbisa04

I see what you are saying but I guess I don't get why him not being able to walk before is a big deal and would therefore merit the murder of someone who knew...unless he is a crazy spy with new Dharma legs like another poster said.

Best line of the show:

Frenchy: "Why don't we shoot him like a dog?"

Locke: "I like dogs."

No. Knowing this show, the Others or some other evil will intercept the bird and come in and act friendly and then steal Aaron or something.

I don't usually post on here, just look at some of yalls theories. I'm sure its been talked about but the black guy and his son (forgot their names) that left on the boat. Are they gone for good or what? Did I miss an episode? It just seems really weird for there not to be any mention of them since they left.

regarding the seagulls...I told my fiance last night that the message won't do them any good the first time that seagull lands in the ocean to float around for a bit. They didn't think that one through did they? but for being part of the show, those birds are probably tagged either as part of a dharma experiment or by the Others and are somehow not going to migrate away from the island.

concerning Locke - not a spy. He was just as surprised, geniunely surprised, by Ben as the rest of the survivors. He's likely just pissed that Ben planted seeds of doubt that led to the destruction of the hatch.

The Others have a submarine and at least one boat. It is at least conceivable that if one of them wanted to leave the island they might use these means.

I agree my theory was a little out there though.
