Three obvious possibilities:

1) The hatch explosion made Desmond clairvoyant.

2) The hatch explosion sent Desmond back and forth in time, Terminator-style.

3) Desmond is Jesus El Savior Christ.

To the poster asking whey we think Desmond time traveled: In other words, Desmond knew ahead of time what Locke was going to say (or from Desmond's point of view "had said.".

But what do you guys think of Hurley saying he was feeling Deja Vu? I know we already poo -pooed the whole groundhog idea( that they have already done this.)? Do you think he was just covering for desmond?

i like the "Philadelphia Experiment" theory. i know i've heard something like it before but its very interesting as a possible tie in.

Yea, I think the Philadelphia experiment is a smart concept...

Making the island invisible, would certainly prevent it from the survivors from ever being found.

Desmond wasn't watching Locke give the speech. He was throwing rocks into the dern ocean. If he traveled in time, he certainly should've been right there listening to Locke, shouldn't he?

I agree in that the episode was not as grand as it could have been, but as in all the episodes, we learned a little bit more. Like how the polar bears have a cave, how the hatch imploded, how Desmond can see into the future, etc... IMO, the airport scene was pretty damn cool. And like everyone else, I can't wait to see some more of Sawyer.

I'm not sure what you mean by "covering" for Desmond. It was pretty obvious that he was referencing the earlier conversation, especially considering the shot changed to Desmond immediately after he said it.

i am disappointed that it's been 24 hours sine this episode and not a one of you (except the philadelphia experiment story) had a darn interesting thing to say about the episode. i'm not sure that the philly thing ties in but it's definitely interesting. you people have helped me none.

edit: well, I guess I did get to see the preview for next week. it's not all a loss.

Did anyone else almost sheet themself thinking they were going to kill off Ekco after he said "afterall, you are a hunter, John."

His mouth closed and the music started up and I was ready to throw the remote at the TV and give up on Lost.

They haven't gone full circle on him with his story yet, so it was a pretty safe bet that he wasn't going to die.

I was hoping that Locke would kill the cop, not just for a murder - but then that would continue to link the Losties with one another.

I think that Locke has a good heart in general, but I think he's totally capable of killing/assaulting that Sheriff. Don't go believing that he let the guy walk away just yet. Locke is a loose cannon. The loosest on the island... with Jack gaining ground every week.

I'm pretty sure that Eko was unconscious the whole time and that John was just hallucinating...after effects from the sweat house.

I feel the same way. But, it was just one of those episodes...

Question: If the hatch imploded, how did Desmond (who was in the hatch's basement) get out alive?

I also wonder if the polar bear was all in Locke's head also... no one else ever saw it. He did somehow track Eko with fur and blood and stuff... but was it real or just an hallicination?
