I disagree. He's the ****-up who is the definition of faith on the show. His miraculous recovery hasn't even been really discussed amongst the survivors... outside of Rose noticing him in the airport.
Plus, he's a sociopath and, as such, he's very interesting. If anything, him screwing up gives the writers a lot of material to work with.

I don't think all the survivors know. I only remember him saying it one time to someone because his leg was going dead again, and he didn't want someone to give up on whatever they were doing. Maybe it was opening a hatch? Can't recall.
It was when Locke found the drug smuggler plane. He started losing function in his legs and got Boone to climb up to the plane in his place.
The episode 3 weeks from now will feature flashbacks for Nikki and Paulo. Yay. I've been on pins and needles wondering about those losers.
From what the producers have said about that episode, it's supposed to make them (Nikki and Paulo) relevant and "iconic".

2. why has nobody mentioned the Dharma pallot drop? Clearly someone from Dharma is still on the island if Dharma pallots are still being dropped.... otherwise the "Others" or "hostiles" have procured a helicopter and a stockpile of old Dharma crap to perpetuate the image, AND they looped that chess game back into their "barracks" to monitor when the Russian wanted food. That last scenario is so far-fetched, though, that I am lead to believe that not only did the Russian guy beat the chess game but that he chose the pallot drop. The question I want answered is why he requested that and why it was dropped by the survivors.

The food drops are planned and continue beyond anyone requesting food drops. Dharma hired some 3rd party to just drop them in perpetuity before they all died.

Why all the hate for Nikki and the other guy? Nikki is pretty easy on the eyes, in my opinion.

I think the hate over Nikki and Paulo stem from the fact they seem unnecessary. The producers weren't giving enough screen time as it was to much of the original cast. Adding an interesting character like Eko or Desmond once in awhile is fine. Introducing vanilla two bit characters (who have supposedly been around since the beginning, although no one has ever seen them until S3) as mains seems like they're reaching.

Eko was supposed to be around longer... but he got tired of being in Hawaii, and there was something about his parents... either he missed them or they died.
Jin was on Seinfeld last night. It was the episode where Kramer and Micky 'act out' illnesses for med students. He correctly diagnosed Krammers ghonoria.
My wife and I wondered if that was him.
I might be wrong but I thought Locke screwing up and causing the outpost to blow up harmed the Losties more then the Others. Sayeed seemed to have the same thought, as well.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje did NOT ask to be written out of the show or released from his contract. While its true he's ready to move on to other things, he didn't want to leave the show and was in fact pretty ticked off about it.
Just a warning - my cable service has some pretty nasty spoilers in the episode descriptions for the next two episodes. Major enough that I really wish I hadn't seen them.

You sure about that? I read several stories saying he wanted off...the producers were the ones not happy about it because they had to write him off prematurely, which is why the death was handled so sloppy.

I read an interview with him right after it happened. Dude was pissed.
The other thing I read was that he was he (Eko) was very difficult to work with, so maybe they wrote him out for that sooner they expected.
So far so good. Locke knows that these people know a great deal about them.
