I'm still confused to why Ben was surprised a plane crashed and had Ethan give him a full report on them.

We all know so many of them are connected to one another or the Others that it seems impossible that Ben didn't know this was coming. Would make more sense that he was lying to Juliet.

They have introduced multiple timelines or time travel on this show. Couldn't that explain knowing all they know about the survivors?

I think the plane crashed because it was near the island while Desmond was fighting with that guy over the sailboat. He gets back down to the hatch right after the countdown is over and everything is starting to go crazy when the airplane is by the island so it breaks up in midair. It also briefly shows up on whatever the guys working for Desmond's girlfriend are monitoring way out in that snowy place at the very end of season two.

No multiple timelines, just the others not knowing that
- someone wouldn't push the button on time
- while a plane is flying near the island

I've seen people theorize this....but never anything in the show that illustrates it.

I believe the thing that Penny's scientists saw was the hatch explosion, not the almost-explode that crashed 815.

anyone else notice that the tree marking where she was to pick up the meds for claire was the same thing she was branded with? What is the signifigance of the marking/sign?

Is it possible that they did not bring Juliet on a sub? Maybe the drugged her so they could put her on a plane or a boat to get to the island. Then they load her in the submarine to make her think that's how she got there.

That would support the story of Ben saying the sub is the only way off the island (which I believe is bs).

What connections have we seen between the crash survivors and the Others? I can't think of a single one.

Desmond is the only one we've seen involved in anything like that. It looked like they had a massive intelligence gathering operation there and we know for a fact that they have people working with them in the real world. So far they haven't been shown to know anything that a private detective couldn't discover.

It's awfully similar to a Cyrillic letter. I'm hoping we see evil judge lady again some time soon. As to what it MEANS, I haven't seen anyone come up with anything at all. It could be the meaning behind the entire show. It could also be the producers screwing with us.

That's odd. You would think everyone had a contract to make a certain amount of appearances. His story certainly wasn't over like some of the dead characters. I always watch episodes thinking they should have received word by now if he made it somewhere. Even if I knew he wouldn't.

You know, that's a good point. Where the hell are Michael and Walt? Did they really make it off of the island? I always found Ben's "you will find rescue" deliberately vague.

Say they did make it off the island...has no one asked them, "hey, weren't you on Oceanic 815? How'd you get off the island? Where is everyone?"

I agree that story is not tied up, and I think Walt's special abilities are going to be integral to the whole show.

Walt will have grown 3 feet, his voice will have changed, and he'll be shaving, but only two months will have passed on the island!

Maybe they could explain it away by saying the island accelerated his growth or something!

Hmm, I read an interview with Lindelof and the other guy who said Michael and Walt's story was definitely NOT over.

I can't imagine the guy playing Michael would balk at coming back... he was the worst actor on the show.

I read that, too. They even said that Walt's growth would be explained on the show.

Yes. The ice guys were freaking out about almost missing the anomaly again. At least one of the times they missed was when the hatch went into system failure at the end of the countdown when Kelvin died, but Desmond was able to enter the numbers before the hatch suffered too much damage. We are led to believe this anomaly crashed flight 815. When they show the ice guys to us, that's the anomaly that occurs before/when the hatch explodes.

On the Michael returning thing, I can't find the article I read about them trying to lure him back, but it was from a usually reliable source. Probably, he is both holding out for more cash and waiting to see if his CBS pilot gets picked up.
