Just before Eko saw thos "attackers" in the woods, the black cloud security system thing flew past quickly in the background.
I predict that the two new characters are going to die soon.
My guess is that at least one will take the place of someone else in the show.

Favorite character with a great backstory and lots of promise... dead.

Ecko dead for no good reason. This show is quickly becoming LAME!! Why the hell do writers think they need to kill their best characters to get people to watch their show? LAME LAME LAME!!!
Funny thing is, I don't recall any indication someone was going to die this episode, especially not someone as awesome as Mr. Eko.

We don't even know what happened with his village in Africa either. Was the vaccine sale a set-up or was he trying to get some money? Did the people he wanted to sell the vaccine to come burn the village down?

I thought his story was taken full circle. He wasn't sorry for what he did. That was the end. He battled with it all this time and when he came to terms, he died.

yeah, I still feel like it's a huge con with Ben and Juliet.
And this show still feels like Purgatory (I KNOW IT'S NOT!), and in this case, Eko doesn't make it to Heaven.

The smoke monster gets me mad because we've seen it do things since the very first season.
Eko faced it once in the jungle in one of the earlier season 2 episodes. He stared it down, remember? Did he suddenly have new sins from his past that he had to be held accountable for or new fears? Why did he suddenly get up, regain all his strength and run off into the jungle? This show is quickly losing its grip on reality and is becoming way too fanciful for a primetime drama.... not that I'll stop watching though.

I don't think its a con between Ben and Juliet. She shows her disdain for him when Jack is not around to see it (it's present when her character was first introduced this season).

Another point, I am not liking how they are trying to introduce new characters. Really looks like they're grasping at straws with that. The Tailies thing was cool and it worked (even if they are all dead now...watch yourself, Bernard)...but trying to force feed more people from the original crash group is mega-lame. If they have an episode with these characters' back stories, I'll be very disappointed.
I don't think they are going to make it through 5 seasons of this show unless something changes.
The writers really need to go for a change... What has happened to this show. It is becoming lame. It used to be deep with deep stories. Now I don't even know how to describe it. The episodes seem rushed, with each one this season getting worse. I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep watching.

Yep, I've been getting annoyed at Lost too. Each episode is almost cookie cutter...pick a character and do several flashbacks for back story that somehow relate to now. The hallucinations (Locke, Mr. Ekko) keep getting weirder if that's possible. Killing off Ekko was BS.
