Does anyone else think that Spaceship has never finished a novel because he'll get to a chapter that provides exposition or doesn't appear to advance the plot and then he throws the book down saying "That chapter sucked, there's no point in reading any further"

Naw...little Penny Widmore ain't gonna get her hands dirty. The parachutist and crew were probably recon. But, I'll tell you one thing, they just realized the hard way (see Nigerian drug plane also) it isn't easy approaching the island by air.

Desmond proved it is not even easy to leave the island by sea. Mike and Walt escaped because they were told by Ben to take the exact heading to freedom. I assume this is the same heading the sub used to travel.

When and if Penny comes with the cavalry, she had better bring a sack lunch.

C'mon, that isn't what I'm saying. I've defended LOST in the past in some of the slower episodes understanding that every one can't be a blockbuster. But this episode is nearing the end of the season, and has been set up by several good episodes, and it was just a letdown. The Sun/Jin storyline is BORING. I think it was a bit of lazy episode on the writer's part because they knew they were flying high after several good ones. Am I giving up on the show? Of course not.

Ok, here's the way I see it...

Hugo is the mole. All the talk on here last week about a mole and no one has brought up that Hugo shot off the flare and mentioned the phone that they found to patches! He was also the only Lostie set free by the Others to return to the crash site. He is the most liked character on the show because he is funny and hardly ever causes a problem for anyone. He is the perfect mole...

Sun followed Juliete into the hatch and heard her leave the message for Ben.

The more I think about it, the more I am opposed to the whole mole plot device. I am most assuredly ANTI-MOLE. I don't consider Juliet a mole, since it has already been revealed to the audience that she is working for Ben. Or is she?

The whole Billy Dee/Cobra thing was a fun cameo, but I don't want it to go any further.

Juliet is working for Ben, but I think she is being forced to do it because of her sister. Remember she said "I hate you" after she made that recording for Ben.


Another thing, what exactly happened to Michael and Walt? Did they leave the island? Why haven't we heard anything else about them? I can't remember....

I really think that if we go back and look as past episodes, we will begin to see little things about every character that could make them look like a mole. However, the more I think about Hugo, the more I think he is the one.

What if he came to the island alone hoping that his bad luck from winning the lottery would hurt anyone else if he were there? He then discovered the Others. Random thought, I know, but he did have the money to anything he wanted to. I guess I could go back and watch the pilot and see if he is on the plane. Then you could also argue that he left the island and was put on the plane by the others to be ultimate mole...

This show is all about "the con." Hugo is the most unsuspecting con man of them all.

But if he really was a mole, why in the world would he have outed Ethan, one of the people he was spying for? Besides, his reactions to things that happened on the island lead me to believe that he could not be a mole.

Yeah, when Hurley boarded the plane, I believe he was sweaty from running and nearly missing the flight. He came on board late and thus, everyone saw him (and were probably hoping the fat guy didn't sit next to them on a 15 hr flight). Could it have been planned for him to barely make it so all the Losties took notice of him? Who knows.

Didn't Desmond's actions cause the plane to come down? The same plane that carried just the surgeon that Ben needed?

What if the Other's managed to comprimise him using the computer in the hatch, the same way that Walt contacted Michael.

I don't know, just a thought.

Read my last long post. I think you need to analyze the episode a little more. Sure, this was the down point before the final four episodes...but I almost guarantee you're going to look back at this episode and say "THAT'S WHY THEY DID THAT!!"

As for the rest of the conversation...the mole stuff is coming in two episodes. Let's wait to discuss it then. We're overlooking some MAJOR stuff from last night.

A couple of things -

1. The Russian dude probably did get shocked by the electromagnetic fence, because at one point Charlie says something to him, and the Russian asks him to repeat it. The blood from his ears when he went through the fence probably means his ears partially burst.

2. The helicopter survivor - what was with her and speaking multiple languages? If she knew English, and everyone else around her didn't understand her Portuguese or Italian or whatever, then why not just communicate in English?
