Ecko was by far one of the reasons why I watched Lost, and his flashbacks last night reminded me of why I've grown so fond of him. I agree with previous posters that his story did come full circle, but the way he died was absolutely ludicrous. This smoke monster had better be something really good.
In addition, his death (while frustrating) made sense if they were looking for a "high stakes" kill. Ecko really is not joined together in anyone's flashbacks, and his connection to the island was his brother's plane - a question that was answered with the appearance of Ecko. I kept telling myself it was too obvious for him to be killed (with the episode being dedicated to him, the Regis appearance lined up, and even the arrest) and prayed that it was someone else (preferably Locke - but more realistically Sayid, in retribution from the Others for Colleen's death).
As for the Benry/Juliet escapade with Jack...the X-Ray is fake. We can debate the semantics between who's telling the truth, and who isn't until the 16th season of Lost...but the X-Ray is fake and is a part of a greater con job.
