Caserio is slow playing the hell out of this situation, I love it.

Can he play it faster? Watson has to approve any trade

Watson will be traded by Saturday

I don't think Nick is slow playing it. I think he's playing it from a position of strength which he should.

He's basically telling teams 'Don't waste my time. give me an offer I like or no meeting with Deshaun'

This keeps Deshaun and his camp from talking whoever he wants and also keeps teams from low balling the hell out of him.

I think he's playing it perfectly.

What young players does Atlanta have to offer to compliment the picks outside of Pitts which I assume they would want to keep?

AJ Terrell (CB)

If they were planning to flip Ryan to Seattle and it was worked as a 3 way trade, we could possibly look at Noah Fant (TE), DK Metcalf (WR) or Jordyn Brooks (LB) from Seattle. Outside of that it will likely have to be tons of picks.

Not a rumor. Just his suggestion...

Dont see atl giving up one of their best weapons in pitts

I tend to agree but that would be a pretty awesome trade.

Don't see anything going down with ATL unless atleast one of Terrell and/or Pitts is included. That is pretty much their only young talents on rookie deals. Also saw a suggestion that you take the same deal above, remove Pitts and add Lindstrom (starting RG) and their 2023 2nd. Not sure I like that alternative as much as the Carolina rumored deal with both Burns & Chinn.

One thing I don't totally understand right now is whether this is 100% Watson's decision at this point. I know that teams have submitted offers and the Texans have signed off on meetings. Are there other details that have to be decided upon? Is there a deadline that teams have to submit offers by in order to be considered?

The main reason I bring that up is because 3 of the teams involved are all in the same division. They might have all made strong offers, but what if one of them comes back and says our initial offer can be increased to assure this deal gets done? Which is a best case scenario for the Texans, it could basically become an auction for the best offer. I know that since Watson has a no-trade he does get to have a say, I'm just not clear on where that puts us.

Pretty sure at this point, the Texans (and the other teams) are just waiting for DW to decide where he wants to go. Once he does, the trade parameters that were already discussed will be confirmed between the teams and finalized with the league.

I don't think a team upping their offer will have any influence on the decision unless DW gives the Texans more than one option.

My inkling in all this is to not believe the PFT report that Deshaun is torn or struggling to decide. I'm sure they get some things correct, but they've been all over the place for a year now. I just don't really trust them with regards to the situation.

And yeah, it's no coincidence that 3 teams are in the same division. Works out perfectly for Nick to squeeze as much out of the deal as possible. I'd be fairly surprised if the Browns are a real contender.

I think pre-lawsuits Deshaun thought he could pick a team and force his way there. After those and sitting out a year, I think he wants out just as much as he wants a specific team.

My guess is he's given the green light on a list of teams and the Texans will move him, but want it to be a mystery so they can drive a bidding war. If Deshaun really wanted "X Team" and wouldn't consider going anywhere else, that would be known and all the teams that are flying in to meet with him wouldn't and the return would be bad.

He is likely collaborating with Caserio because it takes both to say Yes or he's stuck on the bench another year in Houston. The "torn" comment to me reeks of a call for "best and final" offers.

He could also be "torn" so he gets a bigger contract post trade.

I don't think he gets a bigger contract per se but I do think the new team restructures it so most of his salary becomes a signing bonus. The bonus cannot be lost due to suspension like a game check can. Also, the new team will be able to prorate the bonus over a few years, thus reducing the immediate cap hit.

Agree with this. This is why I can't see the Saints because they are perpetually in cap hell and Deshaun has shown he wants to get his first.

At some point, the salary cap ceases to be a "myth" and you have to pay the piper.

Interesting that he goes on to say that Saints ownership was on the second meeting with Deshaun. Makes me think it was a response to the Falcons rolling out the red carpet.

Total speculation but posters on various Saints message boards are claiming that OG Cesar Ruiz and DB Chauncey Gardner-Johnson would be part of the deal going back to Houston.

Gardner-Johnson tweeted something cryptic this morning (something like "...") and then deleted all the Saints stuff from his social medias. I did not go confirm this...

They seem to be really happy to lose Ruiz but really sad to lose Gardner-Johnson.

Well done, lunchbox. I was about to ask the same thing. Went back a few pages (but not quite far enough) and didn't see anything. If they get DW then we know their 23 and 24 picks will all likely be late in the rounds. They must be offering more current talent than others since we keep hearing how great their offer is.

Can't speak for his ability but Ruiz started every game for them this past season and he is young.
Gardner-Johnson is also young and has some solid stats including 3 picks
Pete Werner (LB) & Albert Huggins (DT) could also be solid young options. Personally, I would really like to see McCoy & Davenport. They are a little older (1-2 years) but would be the bigger immediate impact.

NYG by far have best package available imo in terms of draft compensation

This. Better be getting three first rounders and three second rounders plus additional players who can make an impact over the next three years. New Orleans has the talent over the next couple of years to win a Super bowl with DW.

I've heard in the past (long before the DW stuff) that the Maras/Tisch's stay away from any kind of sex abuse violators. I know the NYG have been mentioned as may being interested but I'd be shocked if they get involved.
Think Bob McNair going after someone accused of what DW did - would never happen. NYG are the same.
