So if Atlanta enters the fray they have the same issue as the other teams, no multiple 1sts.
Atlanta picks at 8 in the first.
They do have 2 in the second, 43 and 58)
Carolina picks at 6, but they don't have a 2 or 3 this year. After 6 they don't pick again until 107.
Cleveland only has extra picks in the 4th.
New Orleans only has extra picks in the 4th.
I don't think we specifically looking to get multiple 1sts this year, I think they're looking to get them staggered over the next 2 to 3 years.
Carolina's supposed offer was a 1st in the next 3 drafts and then adding in Burns and/or Chinn.
I would assume if teams can't add in young upside players on rookie contracts then we'll see combinations of first rounders in the next 3 drafts plus a couple of 2nd rounders.
Agreed, we don't need multiple 2022 firsts for Deshaun. It could be nice, but we are also likely to trade Tunsil. Gotta think someone like Cincinnati should be willing to give up a first for him.
That would be a dream scenario getting a an extra 1st for the next 3 years then also grabbing the 31st pick dumping off Tunsil to the Bengals. But even a 2nd would be nice for him right about now. If we could come out of this with first a trade with Carolina for an extra # 1 in the next 3 years, a couple of high upside players, and an extra 2nd this year for Tunsil.....I would be so damn happy.
I just dream of grabbing Burns and Chinn, and then have the following picks in the first 3 rounds this year:
3
6
37
63
68
80
You could immediately upgrade the defense grabbing a DE you love and Sauce Gardner with the first 2 picks, add those to Burns and Chinn and then continue to build the lines with the next 4 picks....before we even get to the 4th round of the draft.
