Atlanta is driving up price in IMHO..

Look at Philly to possibly re-enter the picture

That would be smart on Atlanta's part.

Philly has been a head scratcher on Watson reportedly saying no, they have the easiest time of giving Houston what they will want without gutting the team. Plus they already have good skill position players for Watson to work with, and a decent to good o-line.

So wild to sit back and realize what happened with the best qb in franchise history..... we waiting nearly 15 years for a elite qb and he's gone
Im looking for Ray Finkle.... and a clean pair of shorts. Im just a very big Finkle fan. This is my Graceland, sir.

What's sad is that I'm not too broken up that he's on his way out. With how much of a head case he is, I just can't see him leading a team to a championship. He's going to be one of those QB's who will raise the expectations of a fan base, but will never fully deliver.

I read PHI didn't want Watson because Lurie is a big women's lib supporter.

The great thing about the Deshaun saga is that most fans, or at least me, went through the anger and grief stages over the past year. He's already gone.

Getting a haul back for him is like bonus money.

To me the only reason for the Texans to include a RB such as McCaffrey is to turn around and trade him for more draft picks. RBs just don't have a long enough shelf life and the Texans are in a 2-4 year rebuild. Young stud linemen are a different story and should be the focus but the more picks the better.

So if Atlanta enters the fray they have the same issue as the other teams, no multiple 1sts.

Atlanta picks at 8 in the first.
They do have 2 in the second, 43 and 58)

Carolina picks at 6, but they don't have a 2 or 3 this year. After 6 they don't pick again until 107.

Cleveland only has extra picks in the 4th.

New Orleans only has extra picks in the 4th.

It's never been about what Houston wants. He could probably force the Texans to swap him for a 6th rounder if he wanted.

I don't think so, this isn't BoB running the show anymore, and while it's yet to be seen if Caserio is good or bad, I don't think he's incompetent. Watson has power in this to limit the teams and possibly remove the best trade scenario, but Watson no longer has the power to dictate terms past that. It would be worse for him, long term, to sit out a 2nd straight year than it would be the for Texans. Watson can't afford any more hits to his image. His private image is shot, but is professional image is still there by pushing the whole message of "the Texans are a crappy organization and are forcing me to leave". Sitting out another year would kill his professional image, as no one would accept the blame focused on the Texans organization.

I don't think we specifically looking to get multiple 1sts this year, I think they're looking to get them staggered over the next 2 to 3 years.

Carolina's supposed offer was a 1st in the next 3 drafts and then adding in Burns and/or Chinn.

I would assume if teams can't add in young upside players on rookie contracts then we'll see combinations of first rounders in the next 3 drafts plus a couple of 2nd rounders.

Then he wouldn't be on the roster right now.

Yes, he has the no trade clause, but the Texans would be better served letting him rot on the bench than trading him for peanuts and taking the dead cap hit.

Agreed, we don't need multiple 2022 firsts for Deshaun. It could be nice, but we are also likely to trade Tunsil. Gotta think someone like Cincinnati should be willing to give up a first for him.

Rumor has it that Watson is who reached out to ATL to get them involved. Per 610AM reporting someone else.

Does Watson know that Matt Ryan has the largest cap hit in the NFL this season? I dont see us taking him off their hands, but perhaps another team would be interested, which could increase their assets.

The rumor is that they would immediately trade Matt Ryan to the Colts.

That would be a dream scenario getting a an extra 1st for the next 3 years then also grabbing the 31st pick dumping off Tunsil to the Bengals. But even a 2nd would be nice for him right about now. If we could come out of this with first a trade with Carolina for an extra # 1 in the next 3 years, a couple of high upside players, and an extra 2nd this year for Tunsil.....I would be so damn happy.

I just dream of grabbing Burns and Chinn, and then have the following picks in the first 3 rounds this year:
3
6
37
63
68
80

You could immediately upgrade the defense grabbing a DE you love and Sauce Gardner with the first 2 picks, add those to Burns and Chinn and then continue to build the lines with the next 4 picks....before we even get to the 4th round of the draft.

Getting a couple of young players in addition to picks is like Caserio going back in time fixing BOB's mistakes. If he pulls off one of these blockbuster trades the rebuild could be much quicker than I expected.

Interesting. I wonder if they feel good enough about the Deshaun return and/or think Tunsil will have more value at a later date, like the trade deadline.

Sounds like the offers were pretty weak.

I'm surprised Seattle isn't making a strong push for Watson. Perhaps they're content sucking.

If I'm Caserio, Myles is part of the Browns package or you don't even get to meet DW4.
