The trading of Hopkins was never the issue.
It was the return that was so atrocious.

Agreed, while I was upset at the time, his contract would have been a boat anchor around the Texans team neck right now. But, yeah, we should have gotten more than 2 packs of cigarettes and some stale cookies for him.Ag_07 said:

I know this is an irrational belief, but the Texans just won a +5 turnover game by 1 score. This is worse than a loss in a throwaway season. You want to be owed luck in the future, not use it up in a meaningless season.

Would you rather have the Texans or no football team at all representing the city? I'm leaning towards no team.

Was probably breaking down film or something else equally as egregious.

"He's a healthy scratch because of a disagreement," Clark said. "He's a healthy scratch because he answered a question honestly when asked by the coaching staff. Now, coaching staffs have disagreements with players all the time. They usually move on when it's not a fight, when it's not volatile. When it's amicable, they find a way to get to the solution for the problem and they field the best team they possibly can. That's what winning organizations do. The Houston Texans have decided to let ego, to let emotions, to let feelings get in the way of fielding the best team possible. Justin Reid was a professional and as a leader of the team he answered a question that was asked of him. Now, he won't suit up. This is one of the best players on the team. A player that's sacrificed much for the Houston Texans. Now, he's being repaid by not getting his helmet because he was honest."

According to Aaron Wilson, the disagreement came when Culley pointed out mistakes the defense made in a 22-13 win over the Titans in which the defense picked off Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill four times. After the Texans' 21-14 loss to the Jets, Culley didn't want to discuss details of the incident. "It was my decision," Culley said. "We'll keep that internal."
1. The goal of all play calls is for the video review of that play to be best viewed with the Benny Hill theme (Yakety Sax) playing in the background.bigjag19 said:
