True or false: Mills coming in for Taylor was rock bottom of the season?

Even with the Texans futility, that effort was abysmal.

False. Things can get worse.

Their record is worse than the Texans but they have been mostly competitive unlike our **** sandwich of a team

Team has given up. Tim Kelly needs to be canned today and Culley after the season. What a terrible situation.

Detroit has a worse record, but at least they've been competitive. Texans suffered first shutout at home and second this season. Unacceptable.

How mad can you reasonably be about a season that has lived up to its tanking expectations.

Somehow we've even messed that up and aren't the worst team record wise

You realize they aren't actually trying to win.

Firing the coach would imply that they expected to win and are unhappy about the results. The plan to tank was enacted the minute they hired Culley. Why switch now that the plan is in full motion? Like it or not, this is what the Texans FO wanted. When they do eventually fire Culley, it will just be an attempt to make him the scapegoat.

I'm fairly certain Cal McNair is sitting in a bean bag chair somewhere patting himself on the back.

I'm assuming they will be when the season is over. They look much worse than the Lions do.

I do realize they aren't trying to win and I'm not "mad". I'd just like to see a competent product on the field even if we take the L in the end. If for nothing else, it's for evaluation of the young players to see who does or doesn't have potential. For example, there is no reason to play Tyrod the rest of the season outside of an injury.

The worst part about all of this is not only do we suck, but the way we are doing it is a big middle finger to the fans.

Easterby is rubbing his back telling him to just relax and let him call all the shots.

They're not even to the evaluation stage yet. The stank left behind by BoB is not even gone.

This roster is full of older guys on short term deals. It's built to be torn down in 1-2 years. It ugly but that's what Caserio needed to do.

Literally no one on this roster is worth keeping for the long term.

I don't know if I'd go that far. There are somewhat bright spots on the roster that have potential and could be part of the rebuild:

  • Lopez
  • Collins
  • Grugier-Hill
  • Jordan
  • Howard

I'd add Reid to that list, but my guess is he is gone after the season to FA.

Point is, there are younger players that haven't played a full season yet and they should be maximizing their snaps/touches to see IF they are worth keeping around. Taylor throwing to DJ or Cooks does nothing for the franchise long tern.

He isn't the hero we wanted, but he is the hero we need.

Shaming the McNairs into selling the team is the only way out.

Love that guy's shirt. if the Texans put that available for sale they could recoup some of the money they are wasting on Watson.

#Texans HC Culley on cutting Zach Cunningham "We have standards. I didn't feel like those were not being met consistently. It's about the team, it's not about any individuals." When asked if was a tough decision - "It wasn't tough at all."

So basically if you want out just disagree with culley or easterby and you will get cut and can go sign somewhere else

I'll translate "We want to suck. Good players don't let us suck as bad. So, we'll have to cut you cause you don't suck enough".

Sounds like it was more than a simple disagreement. But still, not great. He had value and would have been better to at least trade him.

I'm beginning to wonder if that is just the position Culley takes to either sound in charge, or to cover for management.

He just seems totally lost, but maybe not bright enough to realize how lost he really is. I can't decide if it's that or he is simply willing to put up with any stupidity to keep the checks coming.

Is he a victim of management or a willing participant? Or maybe both?

Culley was given a lot of money to be here for 2 years and just go with it. That has to be it.

He had no trade value with his current contract. No one was taking on that salary.

Culley is so in over his head it's not even funny anymore. I know he was brought here to be a puppet yes man but jeez...He's been an absolute disaster.

Still baffles me that Easterby is still around peddling his culture BS. And to have someone in charge of culture the Texans sure do have a lot culture issues.

I doubt he gets more than 1 year.
