Continuing with the assumption that a trade with Atlanta gets done here's what I'm thinking draft wise. This is assuming we don't trade back.

Pick 3 - Kyle Hamilton
Tunsil is staying, and we lost Justin Reid to KC, Hamilton makes a ton of sense here IMO.

Pick 8 - best WR available, which is why I'd prefer to trade back from 8, otherwise I really like Burks from Arkansas. He's got NFL size, speed, and hands, he's basically DK Metcalf. I know the draft gurus all have guys like Garrett Wilson, Olave, and others rated higher but I'm a fan of Burks. Or just go with Jordan Davis or Nakobe Dean from UGA, both of which are great prospects regardless of draft rating.

Round 2 I assume we take the best RB available.

I don't know. But it's a $24mm cap saving if he's cut after 2022, before 2023. So even if he's not traded, I don't see him sticking around.

Oh after 2022. That's a huge chunk but they also aren't spending a bunch of money on QB so they can probably afford him for now.

Just saw a friend that works in the local sports media scene. He's the type that has connections, but they are connections-once-removed. So this is going to be 3rd hand info at best.

But he said the Eagles are making a late push and have met (or have set up a meeting...not clear on that) with Deshaun. Also that this could drag it into next week.

I've been surprised that Philadelphia and the Giants haven't been on the horn. The eagles were in the playoffs last year, and Watson is automatically the best QB in the NFC East. If they were really interested it feels a little late in the game to me, but nothing is final yet.

That being said I can't imagine Watson would sign off, it just feels like it's going to be Atlanta to me. He's from Georgia, both parties are interested and the assets to get the deal done for Houston are there.

Same here. It feels like too little too late for other teams. There's always a chance I guess and the Eagles certainly have what it takes to get a deal done.

"indecision" is a stall because ATL needs to trade Ryan. Their suggested solution...

3 way trade

Browns get Ryan
Falcons get Watson
Houston gets Terrell, ATL #1 in 2022 (#8), CLE #1 in 2022 (#13), one of ATL #2 in 2022, ATL #1 2023 and ATL #2 or #3 in 2023

Not sure we would want to have 3 1st round picks this season for future cap reasons but having 3, 8 & 13 opens tons of possibilities for trading down (possibly multiple times) for multiple picks in the 2nd-4th range in the next 2-3 years.

I doubt Deshaun needs more time. Atlanta probably needs the time to figure out their other moves. Plus waiting until Monday allows them to get the full spotlight rather than share it with March Madness.

Agreed - if he goes to ATL, I would expect to hear about a Ryan trade either right before or right after a Watson announcement.

Right thats what I mean, how do you talk a guy in to moving his bonus date. I know their contracts are all crazy and much more in depth, but that just seems like a hard sell to me to talk a guy in to giving up 7.5 million.

So Atlanta it is. The decision needs to be pushed for one or both reasons:

1) Atlanta needs to figured out where to move Ryan to and get the pieces to make it work
2) Madula Oblemgata wants the spotlight and to make the announcement on "Deshaun's terms"

Let's hope Nick doesn't let the NTC reduce the return. You either give us what you wanted, or no deal. No bait and switch.

Man how does deshawn decide what to have for breakfast? Don't ever get behind him at a fast food place. He might be there all day staring at the menu

If I'm the Texans, I'm ok with Monday. But each day after than I want another Atlanta draft choice starting with what they still have in 2022.

This guy may be the best NFC QB when brady and Rodgers retire but he will never go to a Super Bowl.
