Saints seem to betting favorite
It's hard to fault Cleveland for trying, but damn they royally screw things up. It was such a long shot and would very likely involve another trade partner to get comparable assets.
To me it's going to be the Saints or the Falcons..

Right now, I think Atlanta is the team to beat. I don't take much from him meeting with the Saints a 2nd time other than they had ground to make up. The talk about them clearing cap space, it seems like all teams involved up to this point have been doing that.

The one thing I dont understand is whether the texans have any leverage here with Deshaun. since he has a no trade clause and if he chooses New Orleans, would the Texans willingly back out if the offer isnt as good as other teams?

The Texans have leverage because they don't have to trade him at all. It might be salary cap suicide but they could sit his ass on the bench and never even talk about him again for this entire season and all of next season and make him the most well paid but most lame third string QB of all time.
Any chance Caserio can add that they want the other team to include a large sack of excrement as part of the deal so that when it's done, he can hold the sack aloft at the press conference and say, "And we've already found a replacement for DeShaun's contributions to the team in 2021."

He's got 1 more year at $11 mil left on his deal and it pushes to 2023 due to his suspension. He's a UFA after that...so you'd potentially only have him for 1 year unless he is willing to sign some sort of extension (not even sure if he can at this time).
There is no dead money left on his deal, however...

It's unlikely to get multiple high first round draft picks. You would have to hope the team you trade him to continues to stink for a couple more years.
Watson's a great QB. He will make the team that trades for him better. I don't see Houston getting three years of high picks no matter where he's traded.

I think he's saying is that ATL would want to get this done prior to being on the hook for that bonus.
Rumors are Ryan would be traded (IND or TEN) so get all this done prior to that and avoid paying that bonus.

This is why I think Atlanta might say that Pitts is off the table, he might be the one player they won't part with to get it done, but who knows. Yeah, I'd assume Ryan would be traded for a package that includes a WR and draft position to pick up another one.

Yes that's what I assumed and it's just a stirring the pot type of comment. It won't factor into this deal. ATL would gladly eat that bonus if the end up with Watson.
