You're probably right, but I doubt he thought Tyrod would compete at the level he did for 6 quarters. The guy made a quick decision every time, and it was the right one almost every time. He played a nearly perfect half against one of the best dlines in the league. Hats off to him, hopefully we can maybe spoil some teams play off hopes later in the season .

I've decided that the Davis Mills draft pick was a masterstroke to ensure the Texans tank.

David Culley clearly favors an offense where he has a mobile QB that can exploit a series of fakes and misdirections. Culley was hired 4 months before the NFL daft, so he and Caserio should have definitely discussed what type of QB fits his system. They even signed Tyrod before the draft, who looks like an ideal fit for this system; however, Tyrod has shown repeatedly in his career that he is 1) an effective player when healthy and 2) unable to stay consistently healthy.

So Caserio then drafts Mills, who is an inaccurate statue of a QB, to play as Tyrod's back up...in no way does this align philosophically with his HC.

Seems like the only logical choice is that Mills was drafted to make sure we lose. Its unclear why a competent GM would want to draft a player like Mills when they had a plan to run this type of offense.

I think it was more of a thing where they could possibly develop Mills and eventually move him for some high picks. Cheap backup in the meantime.

I'm really hoping they realize we're not in a position to draft a QB no1 overall. And in fact, drafting a QB no1 rarely translates to becoming a winning team. They should stack picks and build the line of scrimmage on both sides and then expand out from there.

I know Texags has a hard-on against him because he went to Baylor, but RG3 does not belong on this list at all. His issue was not talent but coming back too quickly from an injury (recall that being Shanahan's doing, but could be wrong). His rookie season was stellar.

I'd argue Bridgewater doesn't belong on that list either. Injuries derailed what would have been a very solid career.
