The game of football is officially and laughably worthless if they're gonna call that on the Murray sack.

I still can't believe Kyler Murray is an NFL quarterback.

…and Kliff Kingsbury is his head coach. Surreal.

No one including the Texans expected him to.

He's a yes man placeholder for the rebuild.

That was the plan all along.

Why would you hire a coach you plan to fire?

In Culley's defense this team sucks because of the McNairs, not him.

Wow. Bill O'Brien tore this team apart before getting himself fired. The Texans have to be the worst run franchise in the NFL. Rebuild? Ha! That is an excuse that the Jets have been pulling on their fanbase for decades.

This. This is the answer to every question regarding the Texans.

Living in Houston, I've tried to take interest a number of times. Just not possible. Absolute joke of a franchise.

I want a cage match between McNair and Snyder. Loser gets the **** out of the NFL.

Culley's role is to take losses, not piss anyone off, then get fired once we have some draft picks and cap room to entice another HC to join. I still believe he will be 1 and done.

I'm thinking 2 maybe 3 then done.

The team won't be much better or ready for a long term HC after this year.

They'll need him to fall on the sword for more than 1 season.

I would be shocked if he makes it to a 3rd season.

The team won't be better next year, but a new coach will at least have draft picks and cap space to work with, especially if a Watson trade materializes. They're basically a blank canvas.

The Texans have been outscored 102-8 in their last 3 road games.

Can't fire Culley after this season unless you find another Culley to take the next job. Why would any coach with aspirations of winning take the Texans job instead of waiting for a better situation to open up?

He's here for 2 seasons and unless you can show a positive trajectory next year, he's going after 2. Unfortunate, but he's going to have a nice bank account regardless.

As much as I feel that Watson's maximum value will only be achieved in the offseason with a resolution to these claims there's a perfect storm brewing that Caserio could take advantage of with teams interested in him.

1. There are no great UFA options at QB. Roethlisberger is the biggest name but he's gotta be retiring after this season.
2. The QB trade market. Rodgers wants out of GB, Wilson might want out of Seattle but that's it as far as names go who are high quality QB's with the potential to be had at the right price.
3. Bad draft class at the QB position. There's no real consensus player that is at the top of any draft boards. Teams might like attributes of Matt Corral, Kenny Pickett, Malik Willis, Carson Strong, or Desmond Ridder but there's no automatic pick in this group of guys. I like the way Corral plays, but his size worries me.

If I'm the GM of another team there's no way I'd trade for Watson due to his salary and unknown legal situation but maybe there's that team that thinks making this move before the deadline puts them in contention this season. But also, what if you can get him without it being the top of the market?

I agree with you. However, I don't think that plugging in Deshaun in Miami, who is sitting at 1-6, will realistically make them a winner this year. If Miami is the ultimate destination, which it sounds like it is, wait until after the season where they are a 2-4 win team with no apparent option at QB and make them pay.

Carolina is the only reported destination where trading for Deshaun during this season could make them a contender. Miami is just as bad as Jax/Hou.

Miami playing for next year.....trade for DW this year while theoretically price is cheaper because of all the unknowns with him. If he gets dissolved of all the BS price could go back up after season is over?

It's really a bet that the Texans have to make - do you trade him now for SOMETHING (probably lower than FMV) or do you wait and bet that he'll be unencumbered of legal issues before the 2022 draft and get a FMV return for him?

I think two things are of importance here:

1) What does Cal want? Ultimately he has to sign off on any move. Could he push to trade him now to get rid of the problem? Could he make the Texans hang on just to spite him? Is he not involved and will just defer to Caserio?

2) What does the league allow? It's been weird that the Texans have not tried to make him play which has caused some to question whether there was league guidance to not do anything with Deshaun until the court/criminal cases concluded. It's very possible that a trade gets agreed upon, but the league puts the kaibosh on it. Or, has there been no trade because there's expectation that the league will deny anything here?

I still think a trade happens until after the season. I just don't see many positive facts that lead me to believe this is a problem that's close to getting resolved (other than what Deshaun's camp is feeding to reporters).

There are two humongous elephants in the room with Watson's allegations and ability to veto the trade. The Texans hands are tied. If there is a deal even 75% of what they think is fair, I would hope they pull the trigger.

Thanks, I spit out my water when reading that. That would totally be better for playing Madden with actual human beings.

I've said it once, I'll say it again, the man is Tommy Boy.

And here he is at a press conference illustrating what fans can expect next season.
