How can Green Bay get Aaron Rodgers to come back and play, but Deshaun quits because Houston hired Caserio?

He signed an extension with BoB AFTER he traded Hopkins for nothing. I totally support hating this franchise, but the dude could've waited for the franchise tag and then hit free agency after he got past all of that.

When you think about it, this is classic privileged athlete syndrome. He kept demanding things and we would say yes over and over, and then the first time he thought we said no and gave him a perceived slight then the organization was out to get him and he had to get out of here.

going next level conspiracy here...

and with the Texans front office you never know...

are the Texans (taking a page from the longhorns' playbook) and trying to steal local headlines while the Astros are potentially playing in the world series?

or the reverse...using the Astros' postseason run as "cover" for a trade by November 2nd?

Well, one QB is a multiple time MVP and Super Bowl winner. The other is currently in lawsuits with 22 women for alleged sexual assault.

Talent and all else equal (just for sake of argument), which one cares about football more?

The Texans have to be thrilled that the Rockets are starting.

Carolina trying to get involved.. From earlier knowledge, Watson said no to Carolina.

Man, if Run CMC could stay healthy that would be a crazy duo

Thanks for the info Bilbo, appreciate you still jumping on this thread. Do you think the Texans will get close to what they've been asking for?

If they get the trade and Watson gets to play for them, the Panthers do have some talent to put around him, and an OC that should be able to put it all together.

I'm not sure if I would want to trade Watson midseason. If he plays he will make the draft picks less valuable.

Mentioned that earlier and guess that Depends on who he gets traded to. Miami has no picks so a 3rd team would have to be involved and we would get some of that teams picks

Miami does have a 1st this year...it just isn't theirs. They own the one that would have been SF's.

So...trading Watson to Miami doesn't have an impact on that pick, especially since they don't play each other this season (unless both make it to the Super Bowl).

Currently, the SF pick that Miami owns would be 13th.

ETA - Miami also owns SF's 1st rounder in 2023....so they have the ability to trade (3) 1sts across the next 2 drafts if they so choose.

I got bored so I decided to document what the Dolphins have, draft pick-wise, for the next 2 drafts. Remember, until the start of the new league year next March, they can only include their next 2 years' worth of picks. After the new league year, they can include 2024 picks in a trade.

This does not include potential comp picks that may be coming their way.

2022:
(1) 1st round pick (via SF)
(1) 2nd round pick (their own)
(1) 3rd round pick (their own or via SF...some confusion here)
(2) 4th round picks (their own and via PIT)
(1) 5th round pick (their own)
(1) 7th round pick (via HOU)

2023:
(2) 1st round picks (their own and via SF)
(1) 2nd round pick (their own)
(1) 3rd round pick (their own)
(1) 4th round pick (their own)
(1) 5th round pick (their own)
(2) 6th round picks (their own and via CHI)
(1) 7th round pick (their own)

It is interesting that bilbo has said that Tua is being shopped in order to gain more capital to meet HOU's requirements. I would think that MIA would only get a 2nd for Tua...

what does Denver have, assuming DEN gives up picks to get Tua as part of this deal to get Watson to MIA?

They have their normal picks minus a 6th plus an extra 5th (via DET) in 2022.

They have their normal picks minus a 6th in 2023.

ETA:

These are the resources I am using for picks...

FYI, on fanduel, the over/under for receiving yards for D-Hop is 70.5. Between our secondary and his motivation, I can't imagine him coming in under that. Seems like easy money.

Apparently, Miami wants Watson to have a person assigned to watch over him, like a handler. Don't see Watson going for that

Yea looking for a handler was what got him in trouble to begin with.
Thanks, and Gig 'Em!

Why would that be up to him?

Unless it says in his contract no handler then it's not his choice.

Maybe he shoulda thought about that before going off and getting 22 lawsuits against him.

That's not the way employment contracts work. An employer doesn't have free reign to do anything that's not explicitly excluded.

Plus Watson can veto any trade, so he kind of can control it.

Why would he? Miami just wants to give Watson the happy ending he's looking for.
