Yeah I'm sure we will all be back to our normal Texan commentary soon, but that doesn't change the fact that there was plenty to be proud of today as a Texans fan. I honestly haven't enjoyed watching this team this much in several years. Mark Ingram is a professional, he was smashing his fist in the ground bc he he slightly missed a chance to break off a long run. One of the dbacks was clawing like a mad man trying to recover a fumble as it went out of bounds. Just felt like the emotion they were showing was real, not some corporate mandated show that BoBs crew seemed to push. They know better than we do that this season is hopeless, but they played like they had a chip on their shoulder. They looked like they were enjoying it. Never really see that under BoB.

This thread going back to what it was last year would be dumb, everyone at this point should know what this is about, tearing them down because they don't play like this every week, is ignorance, just saying.
I'm not tearing any one down. The vibe in this thread is worlds apart than years past. I like it. I was not able to watch the game but like the poster above said, people onbhere were having fun instead of taking everything too seriously. It makes for an enjoyable read.

Sorry, wasn't direct at you, I was making a general statement overall. Accept what this team is, don't expect much, celebrate when they succeed, but when they are what is expected, not worth the energy to tear them down, at this point.

I have to believe a middle aged guy wearing a complete football uniform is doing so, at least in part, in jest. The guy wearing the core value Jersey tucked into his khakis I can't say the same about. For that reason, core value gets the nod for most pathetic.

I went to a Texans game a few years back in Boston. There was a group there, called the Traveling Texans that go to road games. Some of these guys saved all year to be able to afford to attend a road game. I've got no problem with super fans, it's something they clearly enjoy. More power to them.
A lot of these NFL superfan guys definitely crossed a bridge too far though.

I understand nfl fans perfectly well. I attended virtually every home game for the first 15 years of this franchise. All the ones I've talked to don't take themselves too seriously. They treat it like football Halloween.
Yeah, I used to think it was weird that they dress up, but then I realized I have a million things to worry about other than what other grown men/women are wearing. If they enjoy it, all for it. Not for me, but I'm sure some of the things I enjoy others might find weird.

I'm a huge sports fan and love going to Texans and Astros road games (I don't dress up and look stupid).
Usually try and hit a Texans road game each year at great stadiums for long weekends, have been to Green Bay, Seattle, Denver, and KC. Great experience ls at all.

I think there's a difference between passionate fan and folks like this. Now, its no skin off my back if these people want to do this, but it is a little weird.
I'm not defending dorks who do dorky things by any means… but what's the difference between this and something like Comicon?
