Got to find something to talk about to fill that air time.
This sums up exactly how I'm feeling. I'd like the announcement soon so I have an idea about whether I get a chance to breathe or give up all together.Snake Jazz said:
Hiring Flores would genuinely make me excited about this team for the first time in a couple of years. Hiring McCown would make me want to drink until I'm numb.
Guess I need to run by Spec's tomorrow.
I would love to be pleasantly surprised by this decision, but I don't know if there is a front office in professional sports that seems to openly hate their fans as much as the Texans do.

If we get beyond Monday with no announcement, it has to be McCown. They will want to lessen the blowback and super bowl week is a good week to do it.

I disagree. That would be the worse time to do it.
With radio row going on and everyone in front of a microphone the last thing they want is talking about Flores getting snubbed for McCown.
That would be a PR disaster (if it wasn't already).
I'm not sold on either McCown or Flores but of those two I'd take McCown. Flores is toxic and I'd want no part in that.
Hiring McCown would make me lose the little interest I have left in this franchise.Snake Jazz said:

Texans are now in talks with their associate head coach and defensive coordinator Lovie Smith about potentially becoming their next head coach, sources tell me and @fieldyates.

Texans are interviewing defensive coordinator and associate head coach Lovie Smith for their head coaching vacancy, per a league source. Texans, who have interviewed Josh McCown twice, haven't spoken recently with Brian Flores. Jonathan Gannon no longer a candidate.

Texans aren't hiring Josh McCown, according to a league sourfce

Texans were serious about Josh McCown, but have moved on to Lovie Smith, per league sources. They aren't in talks with Brian Flores and previously ruled out Jonathan Gannon. If Smith deal is struck, the Texans hire a very experienced candidate who has 89-87 record as head coach https://t.co/4R3kGAUQI0

This comes off as the Texans hiring a black coach without touching the toxic mess that Flores is.
Like 'Oh **** now we can't hire McCown and Flores is untouchable. What black coach can we hire to appease the masses? What about Lovie?'
If they thought Lovie was a legit candidate they would've interviewed him along with the others and not as an afterthought.
Could've avoided all this and just hired O'Connell. Fckn Texans

Nick wants Flores, Cal won't sign off on it because of the lawsuit. Hence, the move to Lovie.
Still could be Flores. But Nick will need to convince Tommy boy.
Info I received just tonight.
