I thought he torpedoed his career already but this for sure did it. Nobody will think to interview him now.

We knew this was coming, though. The Texans, rightly or wrongly, were the last team to hire a coach and it came after the initial filing. So the Texans were in a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.

The sad thing is that the Texans may have actually had the most interest in Flores of any team and treated him with the respect an actual candidate would have warranted. He still is going to drag them through the mud.

and this is also a very bad development for future interviews for minority candidates.

teams will used the minority coaches...currently on their staff...to fulfill the requirement.

and avoid taking a chance on a minority coach they don't know --- for fear of a lawsuit

Maybe some damning stuff comes out on Cal.

It's just such a desperate move. The main point being it's retaliation because Lovie wasn't a finalist? That's a pretty unrealistic expectation. Also, Caserio addressed that in Lovie's PC.

Flores...what are you doing?

What's interesting is that Caserio did a radio interview Wednesday and mentioned that there were, indeed, 6 finalists. This "3 finalists" narrative the media did seems like maybe its not the actual story? Would be consistent with their reporting of the Deshaun saga the last year.

If that's true and it shows Lovie and Flores were both indeed finalists, it should be easy to prove that the hiring was not a retaliatory measure but just a slow systematic approach to picking the coach. I wonder how much the media leaks play into the legal proceeding, but my guess is that they don't hold nearly as much, if any, weight as what the actual process was (likely documented in internal meeting notes, emails, etc.).

as I said above, each team is listed as potential defendant if a class is certified for a class action case.
It is my recollection that after filing the suit originally on Feb 1 Flores reached out to the Texans and told them that he would still like to be considered for the HC position with the team.

Given that he was not hired and subsequently named the Texans in the suit for not hiring him, that seems to me to be really close to blackmail. Am I wrong in making that connection?

Also, if the Texans hadn't discriminated against him before they hired Lovie (since they were not named), but now they are racist because they didn't hire Flores (instead hiring another black person), it would seem that his definition of what makes a team racist is not hiring him. It would seem to me that adding the Texans actually weakens his case. Am I off base legally in these assumptions?

Caserio basically said that the only reason there were "finalists" is because the NFL forces teams to report certain things to the league office, so that it can effectively be leaked to the media.

Which to me rings true considering how deliberate the last two hires have been. I don't want to pretend like the league is above directing teams not to hire Flores, or that the Texans front office is so good at this process. But Flores needs to realize his actions have also made him unhirable.

He can probably make more money and work less hours as a broadcaster.

He'd be with his new family, and has already made enough to be set for life. Good on him if he so chooses.

The Texans' defense could be proving that their head coaching job is not something any rational person would want to have. Therefore they did that guy a favor not hring him.

He's got a ring and a healthy nest egg.

Take some time off and relax then do tv if you get bored.

Deahaun's deposition scheduled for Feb 22nd.

Does he settle before then to avoid the hours of deposition or go full steam ahead and subject himself to the wrath of Buzzbee?

Typically it's been started at the end of the offseason. I fought really hard to never turn the page from the nightmare until it's over. We're still in it so but the show must go on.

New allegations? Surely not a new attempt after she originally filed?

His side has been putting the cart before the horse every step of the way. I would hope this is an indication that things are close to being resolved, but I have no confidence in that being true.

Are we going to hire a QB coach? Or is Pep just going to be the OC & QB coach?

The latest rumors about Flores is he is not going to add the Texans as a named team to the lawsuit. Apparently the lawyers were pushing for it but Flores doesn't want to. This is just what I was told but can't find anything to back it up. The only things out there in the national media is that his legal team will do it, but that was days ago.

Anyone else feel like Watson has had the worst representation of any of the superstar qb's? I don't know who else his agent represents, nor do I care to google, but that guy is literally one of the worst I have seen. Every move is wrong. Even the giant deal with the Texans.
