They had the scene with Doran and Areo Hotah where he told him to protect the Princess so it makes sense, it is also consistent with the books. He knew they were dangerous and wanted them locked up before they screwed up his plans by acting rashly.
Agree that the Sand Snakes and Dorne in general may be the biggest flop of the Show so far. They took a pretty solid story and have made it crap with bad acting and a puzzling storyline. The most interesting characters are Doran and Hotah and we have barely seen them.
Bronn is definitely better in the Show than the books but I don't know about Jaime. Jaime has suffered from them trying to make him in to the good guy too much, he's almost goofy at times.
