I actually felt pretty bad for Shae. What was she supposed to do? Of course she lied to save her life after it was found out she was a wh*re.
We all make our own choices. She just as easily could have taken a bag of jewels and gone to Braavos when Tyrion gave her the opportunity. She chose to lie under oath in an effort to kill someone she knew to be innocent.
There isn't much justice in this series, but killing Shae sits just fine with me.

Well the shae in the show is a scorned betrayer who was too stupid recognize the danger she was in, or the fact that Tyrion was trying to protect her.
The book shae was a naive betrayer who was too stupid recognize the danger she was in. So she effed Tywin when Tyrion was imprisoned to keep status.
Either scenario, she stayed around when she should have left and both times she betrayed Tyrion to a guilty verdict. b*tch has got to die...

yep...really looking forward to both shae and tywin.....
non readers haven't got a clue whats coming there i think.... they just think tyrion escapes somehow. which is what we all hoped as readers too.
my only doubt concerns whether he has the conversation with jamie where he falsely says that he did kill joffrey - i kinda doubt it. they've made their relationship closer than in the books and more honest. but who knows.

do ya'll really think this weeks epeisode is ALL on the wall?
i mean it could be i suppose it is potentially epic enough in scope and scale like Blackwater.

I missed the preview so I can't say, but really the only thing left in kings landing is Tyrion's escape and I have to think they hold that for the finale.
Did the preview indicate that Mance is going to attack the wall? If both attacks happen in 9 then I easily see the entire episode being at the wall. Maybe some Bran stuff?

The preview's scenes were all at the Wall, I personally think the first 20 mins will be Bran, Arya, the Mountain-Cersei-Tywin, and maybe Tyrion having that breakup with Jaime. (Tyrion's ep 10 is Varys, Shae, Tywin, and exit)
I thought I saw giants in one of the previews, which would indicate mance attacking as well as Ygritte's band

Doubt we see anything in KL. They'll save that for the finale I would think. We will probably get a few token glances at arya/hound and Sansa/LF, but 75% of the episode will be at the wall IMO
Also does anyone else think that Jon is the one that kills Ingrid, that's just too tempting for GRRM and his sadistic band of writers...
Not completely sure about the validity of this, but here are some characters rumored to be cast for season 5 (NOT actors who are being cast in the roles, just characters we have not seen yet in the show that will appear in season 5)

I think what interests me most is Obara Sand's fight that didn't happen in the books....

idk....I have a hard time imaging TV Jon Snow being heartless enough to kill her.......unless he's weeping as he somehow sticks the blade in her....which could happen
I think that little kid kills her.
I'd be surprised if Jon kills her in the show. That seemed to be a big deal about how conflicted he was over her, not knowing if one of his arrows killed her, or if he would have shot if had seen/known her. I guess that's a lot harder to portray on screen, though.

I'm thinking they're going to have a "moment" between Ygritte and Snow. She hasn't really been prominent in awhile now and I'm thinking they are going to have to remind the viewers why they're supposed to be sad when she dies.
I don't think they will get this particular person, but I hope Areo Hotah is someone like Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
The casting for next year is intresting and not really surprising - I expected the Martell story line and Sand sisters revenge to be a player so those roles make sense. Some of the small bit parts are interesting. The High Sparrow is actualy the High Septon which will mean the Maergery/Cersei trials will be prominent as expected too. And the Unella to torment Cersei I like as well as her fortune teller. Lots of Cersei. I expect Kevan Lannister to return but of course they don't have to to cast for that. The Waif isof course an indication that Arya indeed goes to Braavos for training.

i assume that we are going to get M a g g y in a flash back? would be one of the first actual flashback scenes in the series.
i hope they cast Kevan Lannister well. casting him with a charismatic/heavyweight actor like they did with Charles Dance/Tywin, could really offset that particular loss and make for some great added content in KL.
Same with Doran martell in Dorne. have him portrayed as this weak cripple only to reveal at the end of the season that he has been plotting the entire time, Keyser Soze style

RE: Jon's parentage. There was an interview with the producers about how the show ever got off the ground, and how they got GRRM to buy in. They said that GRRM had asked them who Jon Snow's parents were, knowing that that's something your average Hollywood exec wouldn't be able to answer. They gave the answer that they thought was right and GRRM agreed.
In my mind, this is just more fuel for R+L=J. This had to have been before Book 5 was released, so Aegon was an unknown. So was the Davos chapter about the fisherman's daughter or whatever.

RE: episode 9 likely ending with Stannis. I hope it isn't too similar to the Blackwater episode. Same director, I hear, and it would be the second one-location battle episode. Not only that, but they would end pretty much the same...
- sitting around, drinking and talking about random crap before the alarm signals (Bronn / Grenn)
- special effects out the wazoo (wildfire / giants and the like)
- hand to hand combat in the dead of night, so it's a bit difficult to follow
- all seems lost
- someone charges in and wins the battle, and then walks up to the camera and says "we have won the day!" (Tywin / Stannis)

So if R+L=J, then would Jon be Jon Waters?
no, he would be of royal blood line (assuming they were married officially in Targaryen custom) and therefore Jon Targaryen or maybe Jon Stark-Targaryen to unite 2 of the great families.
I'm assuming same Kevan Lannister since there is no mention of casting for that role.

I'm sick of recasts between the Mountain and Daario. No more. Recasts bug the ever living s*** out of me.
Was r+l=j mentioned in the books or is it just speculation? Can't remember.
