I'm looking forward to air conditioning as much as the next guy... But from the outside he old park looked like a catehdral, the new park looks like an indoor practice facility at best, a warehouse at worst.

I'm curious as to why they went with the white material on the roof, I don't remember that being in any renderings. Does it serve a function or was it an aesthetic choice (if so, I dont think that part looks good)

Gotta be purely for energy saving. White roofs reflect heat to reduce the cooling needs of a building. Pretty much required now with the energy codes.

*Edit to add: with the roof closed. I'm still holding out hope that the park will look spectacular with the roof open and the light shining through all of the open areas.

I got to walk the facility on Monday and man it is impressive although it definitely doesn't have a "ballpark" feel. The field turf was very giving and I liked the coconut shell addition because it looked like dirt in the grass.

My comment about a ballpark feel isn't necessarily a shot. For example, there is a speakeasy that has the feel of uptown Dallas if you are going for that reason.

I am looking forward to taking my kids to a Sunday afternoon game and not worrying about heat stroke.

Parking seems like it could be a nightmare.
