Copycat WB/DC to release R rated version of BvS on video. Whether they were always planning this or not, it looks like more following by the least imaginative movie studio.

Apparently this was planned because they didn't want to make the theater cut of the movie too long. There is a lot of stuff that was cut including a significant amount of background information that isn't important to the movie but is important to the development of the DCMU.

I don't mind this actually.

Don't get me wrong. I'm fine with it too. I just think that the focus on it being rated R is in response to Deadpool.

Yeah... I'm curious what deleted content they might do away with that makes it rated R when added back to the film?
Maybe that version has a ton of blood added everywhere?

I've seen that the reason for the R rating is violence. No clue what kind or how much violence constitutes an R but that's the rumor anyway.

I've been hearing nothing but good things from the people who have seen it. It's a lot darker than MoS but it's a much better movie. Currently projecting to a $180 million opening according to the article below and it's trending upwards.

Interesting comparison to Watchmen. That humans v. others - mutants, aliens, "powered" - thing sure seems to be a pervasive theme in both Marvel and DC these days.
