They have all kinds of both cold and hot sandwiches. I was that direction yesterday and had the Italian beef. The only thing I don't like there is the chicken salad because it has grapes.

This looks AMAZING!!!!!

I had a Hot Bobbie from Capriottis today for lunch. Maybe im spoiled by my Mother-in-Law's cooking, but my sandwich was bland and the dressing didnt taste like anything. Asked for salt and didnt help much. I'll go back to try the cheese steak at some point, but for the price its not worth it to me

There is already an Anytime Fitness next to HEB at Tower Point. I wonder if they're just moving?
Pretty sure HEB is taking over the entire front of that center. I know the haircut place is closed and Whiskey Charlie's moved around the corner. Someone needs to ask Chef Cao if they are moving too...if so that would be the entire front.

I'm guessing Anytime also wanted a bigger space.

Yes, we are moving the Anytime Fitness to the new location, almost twice the space. Will be open December 5th.

HEB had plans to expand their curbside, which is why they were "kicking everyone out". Whiskey Charlie's and Subway are the only ones with long term leases. I know that plans have been put on hold though because of the cost of everything.

Yes, less than a month. All the flooring was finished today. We started the finish out in August and we are getting down to the end. It has been a long process; starting working on getting this new space in September 2021.

The building already existed but this particular space had never been finished out. It is at the end of the building with St. Joseph and Gold Star Pharmacy. Right behind Frost Bank.

I drive or bike by it several times a day and it has been very busy the last few months.

No idea, I don't think they even started hiring yet. Hopefully late December or early January, but that's just a guess.

The property is no longer on the active listings on Oldham Goodwin. I guess it sold quickly. When it went on the market, I think KBTX said that a developer was lined up and could be announced before the end of the year.

New bowling alley and movie theater in the works at Bryan's Midtown Park.

https://wtaw.com/bryan-city-council-holding-a-special-meeting-to-consider-adding-another-entertainment-center-at-midtown-park/

Website for Corsicana location: https://corsicana.moviebowlgrille.com/

Quote:

The Bryan council is holding a special meeting Monday at 5:30, in part to consider approving a third public-private partnership project at Midtown Park.

The proposal calls for creating a $26 million dollar movie, bowling, and recreation complex.
The 30 year ground lease is with the company running the Queen and Palace theaters for the city.
What is being called "Schulman's Movie Bowl Grille" will have technology advanced auditoriums accommodating movies, e-sports, and conference space.

The complex will also have a bowling center of at least 24 lanes, at least four indoor pickleball courts, and at least three other recreational activities. Those options includes darts, axe throwing, bocce ball, and shuffleboard.

The complex, which will also have 250 parking spaces, will be built along Midtown Park lake near Villa Maria and South College.

Construction is supposed to start by next August and open in September 2024.

This is absolutely true. College Station leadership is an absolute failure on almost every count in relation to their job duties.

I saw some guys playing Bocce ball in Paris at Luxemburgh park and it looks pretty interesting. Wouldn't mind learning to play that and pickleball in my middle ages.

Glad they finally made this public. I mentioned back in April that a Main Event type place was in the works, but couldn't say the details on it. The Schulmans have been planning this for a while, but I couldn't publicly confirm it. (Yes, I am patting myself on the back.)

https://texags.com/forums/35/topics/3262778/replies/61842331

That said, for long time residents here, the Schulmans are the same family who used to own many of the movie theatres here in B/CS until Cinemark opened.

They bought the La Salle back in the day. Made a profit on it IIRC.

IBio, a bio-tech company based in Bryan has announced it will be closing its local facility and laying off 50 employees.

Hopefully another bio company buys this building.

Hate to see companies like this leave b/cs. That area has such potential and promise but it has been a slow roll. Hopefully some new development will spur the biocorridor and it will take off from there.

https://www.kbtx.com/2022/11/11/texas-am-donates-land-brazos-county-new-medical-examiners-office/

On that note, a new medical examiners office will be built next to the health science center. My understanding is that the HSC will be in partnership with the county and provide a new curriculum as it relates to forensic pathology.

In the past, any deaths needing to be investigated had to go through the medical examiners offices in either Austin or Houston. This location once built will serve all areas within a 100 mile radius of B/CS.

I kinda like the division. CS council seems focused on appeasing boomers. Bryan is focused on the younger crowd.
