To be fair, the complications are tied to the U-Verse gateway rather than the router. These are all things you can do to get any router working with a U-Verse gateway, so it isn't necessarily an issue with NETGEAR.

I do agree with U-Verse having as big a market share as they do, it would be helpful for companies to have those instructions available.
We actually just announced at CES a new setup wizard that walks you through setting up a router behind a uverse gateway. We'll keep rolling it out to the other routers as time goes on. It's available now on the R7000.


if we have a different router, say the N300, would we be able to use the same or similar steps as the R7000?

PB, you can do this with any router, you just need to reference the discussion from page 38 or 39 about how to disable the uverse gateway wireless and make the router an access point.

We are looking for a name that is easier to recall and exciting than "ReadyNAS 200 6TB (2x3TB) blah blah blah"

On the Router business, we developed Nighthawk, and with cameras, we have Arlo.

WD has MyCloud
Synology has BeyondCloud
Seagate has PersonalCloud

What would you name a NAS that sounds cool, relevant, and easy to use?

LiucciCloud and ReveilleBox are not options...

I did my best to play off the internet is serious business mantra on TexAgs and combine with a cloud reference.

FileSafe is already taken by a business.

Accumulator - then work a cumulus cloud into the cumul part of the word for the logo design.

How about Netgear NextBox...

I thought thats what Microsoft should have named the Xbox One since it was incorporating a lot of the receiver/tuner capabilities, thus making it the Next great box you needed in your entertainment center.

I think it works for this application as well, since it should be your primary storage option.

Why wouldn't you just adopt the ReadyCLOUD name from the ReadyNAS setup/access software to the hardware itself?

I'd like the ReadyCLOUD extended, either that or something along the lines of CloudGEAR. I dunno though. NightHawk and Arlo really are branded names, that don't have any prior connection really with the products they are naming. Have to noodle on that one for a while
