White looking good. Very confident with his jump shot.

I suddenly don't care about this Summer League game.

White is shooting confidently. Not doing a lot from a point guard standpoint, but no one does in summer league.

It's safe to say no one will make a trade for Kawhi now right? Unless an east team wants to rent him for the year to try to make it to the finals.

LAC is the only team I can see trying to make a move. The one year rental is pointless, but maybe they think they can keep him. The Lakers have filled their roster up with too much one year junk to make any real moves.

So tune back into the NBA in about 5 years once the playing field levels?

Kawhi's expiring contract could still be an attractive trade piece to a team if the Spurs are willing to take a guy with years left. I can't think of any off the top of my head.

The Warriors will lose Cousins next year, could easily lose Thompson as well. In 2020 Green's contract is over and he's already said he's going to maximize his contract.

Metu and Brimah are bouncy.

I'm actually kind of impressed with Walker's defensive habits.
Ulrich

White is playing really well. Brimah has set a couple nice screens (EDIT: he lowered the boom on someone as I was posting... a bit late but it was on the guard going too soon). Ledbetter doesn't really belong here but he's scrapping.

See y'all next postseason. I'm sitting this next season out.

There is a lot of doubt when Cousins will even be able to play next season, and how effective he will be. There is a reason he had to sign for that little of money. ThAt injury he had is no joke and he may never be same. The history says he likely won't. Plus you got Green and Boogie now in same locker room? I wonder if Kerr signed up for this. Anyways, I think this is a definite 'wait and see' whether Boogie is much help to them next year.

That said, if Boogie is able to at least start contributing as a second unit guy by playoff time, say essentially replacing David West role (who is contemplating retirement)...well even a reduced Boogie is likely a signicant upgrade over David West.

Blossomgame just went up with bad intentions on Utah's shot blocker. Foul kept him from finishing but it was an explosive move.

Otherwise he's still pretty invisible.

I think the Lakers may be targeting Klay Thompson next summer.

Klay's dad runs the big Lakers sports radio show and was a key player for the late 80s Lakers teams.

That would make things crazy.

If Boogie had to carry a significant load like he did on the King's and Pelicans you'd be right. But he's on the warriors, he doesn't need to do much to make the crazy good warriors an even better team.

White is starting to mix in some nice passes. Walker finally hit a shot. He looks a little frantic on offense, but I like his defensive effort.

Walkers defense looks very nice so early. He certainly has a lot to learn on both ends but I'm encouraged.

First time since the NBA-ABA Merger that a team has 5 All-Stars from the previous season.

At this point I'd be ok with combining franchises with Philly. 21 home games in SA. 21 in Philly. Then 40 road games. That's about our only shot against the Warriors.

Simmons
Reddick or Green?
Kawhi
Lamarcus
Embiid

Bench

Murray / Fultz
Reddick or Green
Covington
Gay
Saric

So I see Metu put up a Dejuan Blair stat line of 20 points, 14 rebounds per 36 minutes. Also 10 fouls per 36 min.

How'd he look, other than bad on defense?
Ulrich

He had a couple decent moves with the ball. Drilled a really comfortable looking three a split second after time expired. Appears to have a very nice vertical, although he's still a beat slow on timing his blocks (so about three beats in NBA play). I would guess that he ended up with 2 legit blocks, 2 goal tends, and one goal tend that was called a block... He really wants to block shots.

All in all not a bad first outing. He has enough raw tools to be a legit NBA player if he can put it all together.

Rudy Gay had a similar injury and made over $8MM last year with the Spurs. Cousins is in the prime of his career coming off of a 4th straight all-star campaign. He took a significant pay cut even with that injury.

Cousins hadn't received any offers, not even from the Pelicans. He called GS, not the other way around. Maybe execs don't think he has the drive to recover from his injury, or maybe they realize how much of a headache he is. Either way, he took the $5.3 million due to lack of interest.

I thought he turned a corner, behavior-wise last season. I guarantee a non-competitive team would have at least offered an non-tax payer MLE, if not more. But I don't think he wanted to go back to a Sacramento-type team. I don't believe that there wasn't at least one team out there that was interested.

Articles say Boogie met with both Warriors and Celtics and decided GSW, but Boston apparently was willing to do similar thing to him. Come for not much money but can finish rehab and adjust his game as necessary next season with no pressure on a winning team where he was a luxury, not necessity.

Said that Golden State probably wouldn't try to start putting him into games until December/January-ish timeframe at the earliest.
