Interesting thoughts on how to fix the NBA:
1. No Max Salaries. Pay everyone as much as you want.
2. No Draft. Rookies come in as free agents and you can pay them whatever you want.
Which would never pass, because it has to be agreed on by the players association, and the less money rookies get, the more for the veterans.
or, a more realistic approach...
1. Allow teams to pay one player more than the max.
2. Shorten Rookie contracts
3. Change incentives in contracts. Right now, unlikely incentives (such as MVP award) can't be more than 10% of pay.

If he comes back and is 100% and looks like the player that finished #2 and #3 in consecutive seasons for MVP, then his stock raises. Especially if a team has a Gordon Hayward-like early season injury, but could compete for a title with Kawhi.
If Kawhi were really broken I think they would have moved him before the draft... If they even know, which is the absurd thing about all this.
Really not a huge Derozan fan and I don't know what else they have that we'd want.

About that same time, Nike/Jordan offered him an extension for 4y/20mm. His deal expires in the fall.
That 5mm/year deal is way below other stars at his level with Harden around $15mm and Durant at $25mm per year.
I think that Nike deal is the root of everything.
But the Supermax is $50mm more than the regular max he could get if he was traded.
So say he is traded to the Lakers, gets the $170mm max and then gets a $15mm/year deal, he comes out even except that he has 13% income tax in LA and 0% in SA.
I assume Uncle Dennis is terrible at math.

Kawhi and Patty for Derozan and OG Anunoby. I like OG as a young wing prospect, clears Patty's contract to give us room for next summer. Maybe we can get Toronto to throw in a pick as well.
