I, for one, am glad the Spurs sent that, especially given the timing. It shows who the Spurs are... A classy organization, and makes Kawhi look like more of a puss for leaving the team that made him.

Well Kyrie forced his way out of a great team because he wanted to be "the man". And CP3 is just chasing a ring. He at least was at the end of a contract. Kawhi has no reason to leave other than he wants to be in LA, which is pretty dumb IMO. Hes going to hate it.

We've just never had this happen to us. It sucks but the NBA has always been a league where the stars call the shots.

AMEN. And add to it that Kawhi and/or "his camp" are treating San Antonio like it's the worst organization in the league (like maybe the Phoenix Suns or the Sac Kings, or whoever is the NBA equivalent of the Cleveland Browns), while it actually may be the absolute best over the past 2 + decades.

Look, I'll still be a Spurs fan, but I can't stand what's going on right now. This great organization could be HIS team from now until the day he retires, yet he's pulling this BS.

I'm in no way defending Leonard. But, he might not be thinking about the next 10 years of his career in SA. His ties are to Pop, Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli and those guys have retired or likely will be retired in the next 2 years.

I don't see why the Lakers would want to trade the farm for Kawhi. They should just sign Lebron and George and call it a day.

I think the Spurs should hold on to Kawhi for this season. Where else would he go next season, to the Clippers?

Can't confirm but I heard that Bill Simmons said on his podcast that Kawhi's "group" had him visit up to 7-8 doctors until they got the diagnosis that they wanted and required him to sit out the whole season.

So, that's interesting. Because he DID come back. I wonder if this is after he felt pain again, and continued to look for doctors to explain the pain. I'm not in any way saying Simmons is wrong. But I don't think the above fits with him coming back for a short period of time. Unless something happened during those 9 games that pissed him off enough to want to quit.
