This would be a pretty unceremonial end to Parker's tenure. Kinda hate to see it end like that.

I don't think losing Tony is a big deal in terms of on the court contributions.
Well the Warriors and Cavs didn't have "real PGs" either and both made the finals. I'm okay having Murray start with White, Beli, and Manu handling as well.
The Spurs have Murray, Gasol, and Manu (other than Parker.)
No one on our team can really create for other people. The Warriors have a lot of people that can do that.Ag Natural said:Guitarsoup said:Last year the Warriors had 7 different players that averaged as good or better than 4.5 assists per 36 minutes, minimum 800 minutes played.Ag Natural said:Guitarsoup said:Kind of a big deal when we don't have a real point guard on the roster.Quote:

That's my point (pun intended ). You don't need a ball dominant PG in today's NBA. If it's just about getting the ball up the court we have several options. Really anyone but LMA, Gasol and Green can dribble.

Probably as simple as what the report says, having a meaningful role vs an older, mentor role whose main job is to help get the young guys like Murray and White ready to take all the minutes. Maybe if the Spurs were going to contend, the calculus would be different.john32f said:

I have no idea how I'm going to react when Manu makes his decision.
