I hope to see Manu retire this summer. I hate to see him out there without Tim or Tony.
Pop, too. There's no sense in fighting anymore. LMA is good but he can't do it alone.

Well the Warriors and Cavs didn't have "real PGs" either and both made the finals. I'm okay having Murray start with White, Beli, and Manu handling as well.

That's my point (pun intended ). You don't need a ball dominant PG in today's NBA. If it's just about getting the ball up the court we have several options. Really anyone but LMA, Gasol and Green can dribble.

No one on our team can really create for other people. Patty is just a really short 2 guard. Murray isn't that consistently good at anything on offense.
We have no clue what White or Lonnie will be like under NBA pressure.
You don't need a John Stockton. But we don't have anyone that can create for others. Tony could do that even last year, though in limited minutes. Manu can in even more limited minutes.
Spurs are hurting bad at this.

Probably as simple as what the report says, having a meaningful role vs an older, mentor role whose main job is to help get the young guys like Murray and White ready to take all the minutes. Maybe if the Spurs were going to contend, the calculus would be different.john32f said:

doubtful, it seems that bridge is burnt beyond repair. It doesn't help that media is fueling the fire for the big headlines
Reports are Pop couldn't guarantee Tony he would be the backup point. Charlotte did.
It seems like it's all starting the crumble. The Spurs as we knew them will likely be no more.
