Went by the new Rally House over by Double Daves at Bush and Texas. Lots of good stuff for fans of various sports teams, and also some What-a-burger, Dr. Pepper, and Texas themed stuff.

Good to see! I guess they are doing one high rise at a time now instead of multiple high rises at the same time. I don't know if if this area is included in the new Riverside Corridor, but this is the type of high dense development that the City of Bryan wants as far as multi family housing in the corridor.
What is the typical wait at Gringo's? I tried today around 6:30 and there were 90 groups in front of me.

137 in front of us opening weekend when we got on the waitlist online.
Got there to check in and they said it would be 45 minutes. We ordered curbside. They said that would be awhile so we ran errands and came back and picked it up.

Walked in last night at 6:30. 90 minute wait. We opted for Chuy's that had immediate seating.
Big fan of Boots sodas. Taste is superior, better ingredients and locally owned. Excited every time we go in a place and see they have it at the restaurant.
As far as Gringo's, my wife set us up on the list, so I may be fuzzy on the rules, but... Supposedly you have 1.5 hours from getting onto the list to actually arrive and check-in in person. So on a Random Tuesday, my wife put us on the list at 5 and we were about number 65. We showed up at 6:20 and were like 40 on the list. We then waited another 45 minutes to an hour until our party of 5 was seated at a table for 4.
To be clear, half of the table was a booth and the other half was 2 chairs, so while we could technically squeeze 3 into the booth, it was super tight. Presumably, we waited on the list longer waiting for a table for 5 than someone with a party of 5 would have waited and we were uncomfortable, so we asked to be moved.
The waitress got her manager who, though visibly annoyed, did move us. The chips reminded me of store bought Tostitos but the salsas were good. Me and a friend got the Three Amigos plus Pepe (it may have been some name other than Pepe). It was bad. Polly's has better enchiladas. My wife had the seafood enchiladas which were pretty good. A friend had something with wrapped shrimp that were good but isn't anything wrapped in bacon? I don't remember the 5th order, but I didn't eat any of it anyway.
All this to say: you will wait and then you will wait some more unless maybe you go at an oddball time like 2:30. When you do get sat, you may find that it was not worth the wait. I hope I just had a bad dish because I really wanted to like it, but enchiladas are nearly the easiest thing to make tasty and they failed on all but maybe the fajita beef enchilada.

First, get the app and use it to get on the wait list. Second, once you show up, you may wait another 45 minutes to get seated. We did this Saturday night. Got on the wait list at 4:30 and showed up at 6. We found a seat at the bar, had a drink and chips, and were seated at a table about 30 minutes later. The person next to us at the bar didn't use the app to get on the wait list and were told it was a 3 hr. wait.
Is it worth the wait? It is to me. Waiting 30-45 minutes is no big deal. And I find Gringos to be the best Tex Mex in town.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. We can't wait to go back.
We went last Sunday (party of 5). Got on the waitlist at 11:15am and was number 28. Arrived at the restaurant at 12noon and waited about 10 minutes before being seated. Everyone enjoyed their meals. No complaints. On the way out, the kiddos enjoyed the free ice cream cones from the ice cream machine near the host stand.Quote:

If you get on the waitlist at Gringos, make sure you check in at the waitstand before the 1 1/2 hour mark, otherwise you'll get kicked off. We were 117 in line on Saturday at 5:30 and thought it be hours before we needed to be up there. We live close so we planed in waiting until we were around 15 to hop in the car. We started making big jumps in the waitlist (not sure why unless people where leaving the waitlist) and decided to go ahead and leave our house at 6:50. We were dropped off the list at some point on our way, even though it said we had made it to 15 in line right before we got kicked off. Once we got there they sweetly put us back in our spot and it only about 20 min at that point. She said it kicks you off the waitlist if you haven't checked in by that 1 1/2 hour mark and that they hadn't advertised that or figured out the logistics of that yet.
I used the waitlist last night and if worked perfectly. Joined about 4:05pm on way back from the Houston airport. Got home, hugged my loved ones, showered and we left the house when we were 7 in line, but only 2 small parties in front of us. Got there and was seated right away. We were just a little over the 1 hour mark (but it did tell us have to show up 1.5 hrs or dropped).
Hopefully Gringos remains popular and Pappadeaux sees they are missing out!!
