A restaurant called Marfa received a permit last week to build out space at 1551 Greens Prairie Road, Suite 100, which is at the Yard. Anyone know about this place?

Marfa is a new venture in South College Station near Tower Point around Casa do Brazil from the folks at Fish Daddy's. It will feature a big bar and food with a Southwest flavor. They hope to be ready by late July, early August depending on the vagaries of the supply chain.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here is a link to request a Trader Joe's in your area. If enough of it fill it out….

From the reviews and comments, it appears Chubby's used to be a food truck in Oregon, and the owners have now relocated here. From their old Facebook page, they have 120 reviews with 4.9 stars, and the burgers certainly look good, with a delightfully obscene amount of cheese.

Hopefully, they will have success here, sounds like had to do a lot to renovate - Master Yakinuki's owners left everything behind.

I hope they left to escape the insanity that is Portland, instead of wanting to import it here.

Looks like it will be their second location in Texas. The first is in Longview. Most of their other locations are in Arkansas and Missouri.

The Zoe's in Century Square is going to become a CAVA. Zoe's has transitioned many (most?) of their locations to the CAVA concept.

I now remember a coffee commercial on the radio when I was young where a bird called out "CAVA CAVA!!"

Probably not the same company.

I prefer CAVA to Zoe's and figured it was just a matter of time until the College Station location transitioned as well.

We were actually debating Saturday either going to Fritella or give Carinos a shot since it's been years since we ate there. Carinos was good but knowing this I wish we had swung by Fritella once last time.

We went to Fritella Friday night. The (new) owner said they really tried to make a go of it but they just can't get people to come to work. The building will be up for sale. I sure would like to have some of those recipes!

I love Cava and have been hoping to have one here for awhile.
BUT, I'm sad to be losing Zoe's. I love going there for lunch and we use them for catering quite often.

Wonder what they did differently versus the previous owners... I'd presume everyone didn't quit with the change, but maybe.

That's just a problem in general right now. My husband's company has been trying to hire for almost a year now, and they can't find people who will actually show up (or can pass a drug test). O&G company that pays well and is looking for entry/no experience, to CDL drivers, to licensed crane operators.

Fritella had the only decent eggplant parm in town. A shame.

Just looked at Cava menu, and that will be a welcome addition. Good luck to them!

If in BCS, this could prove to be another big tourist draw.
