I thought that as well when I saw it on Friday. Especially with the Rey gasping scene at the beginning

I think Hamill's original issue with TFA was that he thought that Luke should have been there to witness Han's death.
his initial reaction was that he thought Luke should have witnessed it but then realized by doing so it would have shifted too much focus on him and the old characters taking away focus from the new characters.Chipotlemonger said:CJS4715 said:

Did he propose how to make this work in the story? Or did he propose an alternate ending? (That's on the record***)

Someone pulled out the old Final Cut file and replaced the clips!
I did too and I think that would have been a kick-ass reveal. By that point in the movie we had seen all the original characters except for Luke.hunter2012 said:CJS4715 said:

He's said before when he read the script, when the lightsaber flew out from the snow that he thought he was the one to catch it. He was deflated when it was Rey. Honestly that would have been an awesome entrance... Just after Han dies and Kylo makes quick work of Finn, have Luke appear and hold Kylo off while Rey carries Finn to the ship.

Here's betting Kylo kills his mom too. They announced Leia would not be in 9

Star Wars won't stop, but the "Episodes" that tell the Skywalker story will. We won't see "Episode 10, 11, 12 etc"
it's going to be interesting how they'll defeat the at-ats.Blatant Disregard said:
It's definitely for concealment purposes. They send those pod-racer things out there the kick up the red dirt into a big cloud to cover up the fleet of X-Wings coming in low right behind. The X-Wings will emerge from the cloud to fight the AT-4Xs.
Just a humble prediction.
