Also the building that Luke and R2 were watching burn had statues that looked a lot like that statue of the Jedi that had fallen in R1

time to guess the plot. no spoilers

Opening sequence is basically Hoth revisited, but we will have a space battle/desert battle.
Resistance loses and scatters as they still can't stop AT-ATs. Leadership in disarray.
Poe and Chewie and Finn take the Falcon after Poe's X-wing is destroyed and Finn heals.
Hunt to find the falcon.
Ray is training with Luke like Yoda.
Poe and Finn are the 2nd and 3rd disney characters to be gay.
Trap set when they are captured to bring out Ray to fight
Finn is reprogrammed into the First Order
We find out who Ray is from Kylo Ren after a fight
Resistance gears up to end the first order for good after gathering their forces
Side mission to rescue Finn to start the third movie

I think they are both pretty pissed off.

Luke's schwartz is bigger, so he takes up more space.

It certainly doesn't look like Rey is turning to the dark side in this one.

Regrets not joining with Vader to destroy the emperor, tries to get Rey to join him, she refuses, so he goes to patch things up with Kylo and says "let's burn this whole thing down..."

Two things Luke say help this out. He talks about balance ( which goes back to the original prophecy)

And then Luke says the Jedi must END.


Meaning the two side light and dark, Jedi and Sith can't exist anymore seperately. This is always what I thought the balance meant. you have to have BOTH light and dark to fully master the force.

The fact that a balance of light and dark is more powerful than either is something they've been circling for a while. Seems to be the allure of Kylo to Snoke, and we say it with Bendu in Rebels.

Has the red outline on "Star Wars" been discussed anywhere? I can't find anything.

My memory seems to think that Star Wars logo has always been outlined in gold for previous movies.

I think she will be the first one trained in BOTH at the same time. and she won't be a Jedi or a Sith. I.e Luke IS the last Jedi. Rey is something new.

I like where you guys are going with the balance of the force.

In the final film of the trilogy, she gets a Darth Maul type saber with blue or green on one side and red on the other.

I'm still guessing a pike type of lightsaber in a color other than red or green or blue.

Ahsoka, who is not a Jedi or Sith, has white sabers.
