Doubt he's in the movie. They often include legacy characters in runs of these premium action figures alongside the movie stuff.

We are less than a month out and I still don't know what this movie is actually about, and I'm so happy about it. Will probably be my favorite Christmas present, a Star Wars movie without a spoiled plot.

A resistance base is under attack by the First Order, but in the nick of time the key characters escape.
Finn decides to try to be a spy on one of the First Order battlestations but is captured and imprisoned in stasis.
Meanwhile, the young Jedi Rey trains with the Jedi master she finally locates, but she is in a hurry for answers so does not complete her training. She confronts Kylo and upon losing the fight she finds out that he is in fact her brother. She narrowly escapes with the help of Poe, and the closing credits show her tending to her wounds as they plot how to rescue Finn and overthrow the First Order.

I'd be ok if the main Porg has the same voice and personality of the rock guy from Thor Ragnarok.

I think they're cute as hell. And seeing how my kids and even my wife want a stuffed one for Christmas, I'm willing to bet it's mostly marketing and they sure as hell know what they're doing. Let's face it....would kids be lining up to buy stuffed Ren, Ray, Poe, Fin, or Luke furrys? My guess is no.
